Huh, it was Doyle. I didn't remember him scoring anymore after the 1-4 win away to Brizzle.

Thought Ståle had turned the corner after that one.

We won 3 out of 4 in December. Beat Blues at home (shite game, Caddis played *ok* and TWF suggested we should sign him for about 3 years after) and Blackpool away (Pennant's one good game). I thought we'd be alright.

Then the Christmas/New Year games happened....

We don't need to retread Ståle for the millionth time, but man do I still love to think about the time Sako didn't track back and Solbakken punched a hole in the dugout fiberglass when we conceded because of it.

Same here...except I was there.
One of those where I was reliant on messages from you. I got about four, and it wasn't because you were being a lazy bastard.

4? Good day for a phone signal in the ground then.

Was SMS back then. Old school.

I remember you telling me after Cardiff at home (another one I didn't go to, I hadn't gone full "BOYCOUTT THE CLUB" yet but it wasn't far off) that we were fucked.

Some strange goings on that season. Recall falling in love with Tongo Doumbia (I know, I know…) after we breezed past Peterborough 0-2 and then wondering what was going on after the 0-3 stuffing at our place Boxing Day. Pretty sure Tommy Rowe scored that day which I suppose piqued an interest and we all know how that turned out.

Probably saw about around 20 games that season and had absolutely no idea what was going. Don’t think the manager(s) did either.

It's all on baldy Jonny Williams injuring Peszko. We were top when he did that...

We were absolutely crap but we still shouldn't have gone down. We had Sako, for crying out loud.

I never wanted Saunders but two huge tipping points for me were:

1) When he first took over, playing for 0-0s at Sheff Wed and Derby when they were both below us. And he got them. Then crowed about it like he was peak fucking Louis van Gaal, when actually what he'd done is treating paying fans to terrible football. Then Sheff Wed and Derby had the novel idea of winning games and went above us.

2) The total fudge after Johnson got sent off vs Blackpool. He'd signed Gorkss. Batth came in and did ok, scored vs Leeds as well. Now Johnson is back. Make a call. Or play them all, despite us not even training to do that and oh look, it's shit and we're losing. Then never ever pick the young kid (as he was then) again.

Wanker.

Edit: Oh, he froze Berra out for no reason as well. Er, he's better than who you're playing. Pick him.

Don't forget the freak injury to Razak "Better Than Sako" Boukari.

Totally innocuous IIRC yet basically ended his professional career.

Was innocuous. Against Sheff Wed at home.

They had Michail Antonio, Ross Barkley and Jay Bothroyd in their team that day.

Did he punch the dugout because of Sako? I'd always thought it was because Karl Henry got sent off for his stupid challenge. I do remember Sako making a very bad backpass in that game which led to... Craig Mackail-Smith (?) scoring.

Early on, your stock Wolves moron said about Sako "his lazy, never tracks back". No, he did, a lot. But my word, was it a disaster. Bakary, you keep the fuck away from our penalty area, I do not want you there.

Ken quickly twigged this and just let him stand upfield wherever he wanted. It's safest for all concerned.

I remember Antonio that day for certain. Out on the wing back then, was Wednesday’s best player by a mile. I’d never seen him before, thought to myself, “that’s a fucking player, that is.”

Even a broken clock…

Tbf the important bit is that he punched a fucking hole in the dugout.

Legend.

He was really good. But a couple of years later absolutely destroyed Doc playing for Forest. He beat him in the first 90 seconds and from then on it was a total massacre.

Stuart Pearce with some awesome tactics of "play on their awful full back with our beast of a winger" made sure we lost 3-0 and it could have been 7-0.

Afterwards, Kev McDonald jogged past us on the steps by the subway, heading to the station. Quickest he'd moved all day.

Some peak Dreadful Doc in there.

You might want to actually do something to stop the opponent, you beardy fuck.

I was at that game, I thought there’s no way we were going down after that 1st half performance, sigurdarson was a beast in that game, played on the wing and ran them ragged for 45 minutes. Downhill all the way after that.

Then the return game Iorfa pocketed him. Remember Antonio standing him up and trying to do him for pace and Iorfa made him look slower than Coady.
