Everton 1-1 Wolves - verdict thread

Football is a weird game. Players like Jackson Tchatchoua or Marshall Munetsi can end up sharing a pitch with someone like Vitinha or Pedri in meaningful games.
Why must you hurt me

Key alternative takeaway from this... Skysports need better comms. Leon Osman was more concerned about upsetting his former employer than his current
I disagree, i just think he doesn't understand the laws of football and his perception of incidents was awful.

Grealish is a complete twat. Hasn't committed a foul yet gets sent off for 2 'dissent' shouts.
What a cunt!!
Just thinks he's so superior.
Arrogant little fuck!!

Would have received a yellow card for kicking Mosquera if he hadn’t already been booked 30 seconds earlier.

Balance of play, seems fair.

We were awful first half and offered nothing at all, pretty lucky to not be 2-0 down. Thought Keane dominated the game for the most part actually, had so many free and easy headers we really struggled against him on attack and defence.

Improved a fair amount in second half, started to attack. The goal is nice, Strand Larsen contributes one thing all game to make a nice pass and great finish by Mane. He's a raw talent and we should be careful of managing his game but it's pretty refreshing to have a plaher like him at the moment.

Usual suspects (Tchatchoua, Arias, Hwang) were rubbish and same as usual. Thought Bueno had an okay game, Gomes was better than usual and looking more like he used to be. Arokodare works really hard and did well at flicking balls on but he is so, so isolated. Feeds on scraps.

Ref was pretty shit, loads of yellows that make no sense.

Another point on the board, chasing Derby's record now. Nice to see us perform with more heart again, should have been given more time to get a winner but still nice to get something other than a loss. Decent day overall.

We're still littered with rubbish players no matter what we do but the squad is the squad.

You'll get somewhere if you just don't give up when you go 1-0 down. That's the big difference (plus Mané of course).

May as well play Lima now. He can't go back out on loan, find out if he's appreciably better than the three stooges (I suspect he is)

This wasn't the game for that midfield three. I don't buy into the idea that Andre and Gomes can't play together, but I understood why Edwards kept the same approach, but it was clear way before half-time that it needed to change.

Everton deserved their lead but it was set-piece dominance really. Infuriating how we left Tarkowski on Gomes and H. Bueno which led to the first. I noticed after that, Krejci was with him at the back post all the time.

Gained more control, with Everton dropping back and looked comfortable second half with Andre involved.

Mane wasn't at his best but that goal is brilliant. The touch is fantastic and the finish is perhaps overlooked, it's really good! Does anyone else in the squad score that? I doubt it. JSL didn't do much, but it was a great pass for the goal.

Don't get Everton's complaints with the red cards. Whether you agree or disagree, pulling hair is a red card, so Keane shouldn't do it.

Grealish is hilarious - a grown man! He was going out his way to get sent off and I thought he should've got the second yellow a few minutes before, but you can't show dissent like that.

The major disappointment for me was added time. Why bring on Lima and not take Tchatchoua off? You could see Edwards telling us to get it wide and cross it, but that's exactly what Everton wanted.

We needed to play more football and build it up. Everton timewasted and cheated, as you'd expect, but 9 minutes and we had one meaningful effort which was still a shot from outside the box.

Fer Lopez should've come on and got into the spaces to keep the ball higher up. It was really poor from us/Edwards, but shouldn't take away from more progress overall.

Mosquera and Gomes probably the standouts for me. No real bad performances aside from Tchatchoua, and Mane deserves special praise for the goal.

As the game wound down I saw a brief little note that Sky throw up, sometimes briefly, but I saw it and it surprised me!
'EVERTON HAVE NOT HAD A SHOT ON TARGET SINCE THE 35TH MINUTE".
So they either backed off or we kind of realised the game was there to be had....

They just aren't very good going forward, they've got no proper strikers. They only really looked dangerous off set pieces.

Hwang has got that in him. I remember an absolutely filthy one he got away with at Villa in one of De Burgh's first games.

I'm no fan of Bellegarde but he can have that role when he's back (and running like Phoebe out of Friends)

I'm pretty sure Areola didn't mean to punch MGW last night. But he did so it's a penalty.

Cannot be any arguments on either front.

Irrelevant anyway as it was already 1-1 and they were doing nothing.
