Ever changing face of Wolves

Not really a surprise considering how much of their operations they've moved in recent years.

Sad news but tbh since they took over Marsdens they've been appalling.

Always loved that hoppy smell when you went through Chapel Ash, probably a bit of an acquired taste/smell though, Missus hated it.
Edit: Malty smell. 👍

As someone who worked at a Brewery for many years, I associate it with the thick cloying smell of malt, as I used to walk past massive 50ft tall tanks of it when walking to the on site canteen every morning.

Burton used to stink full stop. Not sure if it was the breweries or the marmite factory.

Both tbh. They are near enough to each other that the smells combined and if the town centre was down wind then you could always smell it there too.

Christmas gift idea..?

Unlike Fosun you can add colour to Molineux!

It's not as bad as people portray tbh, theres some fantastic architecture around the city.
If people think Wolverhampton is bad, they've clearly never been to Stoke...

More seriously, when people go to other cities and towns for visiting, they go to the nice parts, not the Bilston equivalents. It sets up a false comparison. Plus the Guess and Stir and the like enjoy going on about the statistical poor performance of the city council area without ever mentioning it compares apples with oranges in that most other medium and large city local authorities contain the commuter belts rather than not even the whole main urban area. Leeds City Council, for example, goes out miles and includes Wetherby, Sheffield includes a chunk of the Peak District etc. Even Telford and Wrekin includes Newport.

Honestly it's an ideal location, I'm two minutes drive to countryside, half hour from Birmingham/ Newport/Bridgenorth and 1.5hrs from the coast.

If there's nothing I want to do local, there's plenty to find for a day out. Even stoke centre is poor but Fenton/Hanley was a 10 minute drive and pretty decent last time I was that way.

As long as you avoid Broad st, Darlington st, Temple st, Worcester st, Skinner st, Cleveland st, Queen st etc, you may have a point.

I’ll give you the Art Gallery and the Church in Lich Gates if you’re into that sort of thing, other than that it’s pretty much a shit hole.

Try looking up above the shop fronts.

Plus there's some really nice buildings in all of those - for example, the Hogshead in Broad Street, the Methodist Church in Darlington Street, 3-4 Temple Street, the whole of the west side of the northern half of Worcester Street, the old Odeon on Skinner Street, the Central Library on Cleveland Street and the old half of the Express & Star and the old County Court on Queen Street. Granted some of that lot need a lick of paint here and there, but none of those are "a shit hole".

Yea queen street and Darlington street are terrible, damn those horrid old buildings
