Euro 2020

It's the red card of all red cards. A potential career ender, you can't do that.

I'm sure Max Verstappen could handle driving round my estate at 100mph but he can't just say "oh well, the pedestrian got in the way, officer" when he knocks someone over.

I viewed it differently, in your analogy I think the pedestrian is running into max verstappens car.

Danielson was very unfortunate. Clearly played the ball and he probably didn’t know the Ukraine player was coming. However, as soon as the contact was made in that way it had to be a red card.

Yes but if the prosecution can show Max was driving miles over the recommended speed limit, he'd get done regardless. Even if he has the skill to take corners at that pace.

That's the bit that doesn't work for me, it was only dangerous because he made contact (and I know that sounds daft), it wasn't dangerous play per se. That kind of play is made all the time with zero consequences, it just happened to be really unfortunate timing that meant the Ukrainian fella got hit.

For this to be a red card, it has to be something that gets punished frequently. If he doesn't hit the Ukrainian fella then no one is talking about it. If someone lunges into a tackle where they have a good chance of hurting someone they get rightly penalised. For me this is catching someone on a follow through, a footballing incident if you will (not that they exist in the eyes of the law).

An equivalence for me is going up for contested headers or keepers punching the ball in a crowded penalty area. If we're only sending players off because they make contact it's essentially down to luck.

So lots of planning, seems to be going well for a large percentage of the time and then falls off a cliff

The Sun are a bunch of cocks. For a start the game is in Rome and the Italian Job was based around an England game in Turin.

Prices for the firdt semi final next week at Wembley.

Starts at £195. £475 for a restricted view!

I assume the view is restricted by an enormous amount of caviar and champagne?

plus that’s the semi that is likely to be Italy/ Belgium v Spain. Bet semi final 2 is even more pricey.

I've not really followed the politics of this, but how come both of the semis and the final are at Wembley rather than spread round? Did we offer the biggest bung?

No same prices across the semi games, except no tickets are available for England's potential one. I looked into it, you could get tickets before the Germany game for category 1 only.

Restricted views in Wembley? Wasn't aware there were any!

There aren’t normally. Those are category 1 which if I remember correctly from our visit for the semi final was the middle tier. BBC have definitely built a presentation platform on that middle tier as Shearer and co were in the open air rather than behind glass. Maybe that platform restricts the view from some seats? Other broadcasters may have similar I guess.

Looks like the young German girl crying has had £8k raised for her on go fund me.
Call me a bit harsh surly there’s more serious causes that money could have gone to.
Seems to be a huge amount of sanctimonious behaviour around this to.
