Espanyol (H) 4-0 to the wan-der-ers VERDICT THREAD

Tony, when reading your posts if the word plastic was a trigger for a drinking game we'd be alcoholics :)

I hate sentimentality, memorabilia, herd mentality, grown men walking around with the popular European kits just to be "cool" is bad enough, but wearing those half and half scarves are the cringiest football related thing I have seen

What has this verdict thread become, ffs?

You know things are going well on the pitch when people start arguing about half & half scarves over multiple pages.

Sorry, always hated people supporting one of the top teams with no connection to the area just because they were good. Was Liverpool when I was a kid, then Utd.

You of all people aren't allowed to lecture people on arguing and moaning, you weirdo. :icon_lol::icon_lol::icon_lol:

If a sign of our success is a load of new fans turning up to games wearing half and half scarves then I hope we see fucking loads of them because it probably means we're successful and winning things. That to me seems the most important thing rather than being precious about 'plastic' fans.

People can buy them, I’m not going to stop them. But I don’t have to like them.

Same as I think anyone buying a “tikka wrap” for £6 in the ground is an idiot. Their money, their choice.

Especially when Masala Express is outside at a cheaper price point for the best tikka wrap in football.

jota was lucky to score

patricio can't volley to save his life

we're gonna lose the 2nd game

man caught up on these comments, such strong feelings over a fuckin scarf

show us on the doll where the piece of clothing touched you

Maybe it's different in the US where it's as much about the pageantry as the game.

or perhaps sports aren't something we take seriously enough to warrant needing separation of fanbases to prevent a fucking brawl at any given match and generally don't care what souvenirs people buy?

Excuse me!
I started supporting Wolves at a time when I lived in Sale, 7 miles south of Manchester. No connection to the Wolves or Wolverhampton. Nearest I'd ever been to Wolverhampton was in my back garden, around 60 miles north of Molineux.
OK, I was only 10 and they were about to play Blackburn in the FA Cup Final. (My Dad was a Lancashire lad so he supported them and told me I could follow Wolves...

Maybe you need to become immersed in the football culture over here to appreciate it. Get yourself a 12 month sabbatical and move to sunny Wolverhampton.

I mean I obviously understand that our contexts are different, that's why I was asking in the first place. I certainly didn't expect this can 'o worms though! :icon_lol:

does U Wolverhampton offer an IT masters program? maybe I can transfer over and be bitching about plastics wearing the wrong socks by 2022. :wife:

Sure does. Any grown man wearing football socks to a wolves match has more to worry about than being thought a plastic.

you'll note I didn't say football socks

Good point. True, guess you meant these:

Adults wearing shirts with the name of a player half their age on their back is on my list. Tragic life failure

What makes a goalkeeper top any different from any other? Or are you also against a regular old gold shirt?

Good point. True, guess you meant these:

No, I wouldn't mean those at all. Those are excellent socks that everyone should own, I salute those socks.

I'm glad you made the exception, seeing as half the people on here had their milky white pins out that day.
