Derby (H) build up

We've had a few hair-raising finales of late. I'd quite like a calm, comfortable 2-0 win tonight - a la a couple of months ago style - where we score early and then just control the game.

Managed to get a ticket to this one pretty late up in the North Bank quadrant. Would make two changes from Cardiff, Cav and Costa in for Jota and Bonatini. Even if he doesn't fit our style of play I think this is the sort of game he could do well in.

Will be interesting how Derby approach this. Could they rest key players in the knowledge they will still be in the play-offs and focus on their very winnable weekend game at Burton? Then they have two massive home games against 'Boro and Cardiff to come, which I hope they win. If the 3rd-6th end up as or similar to now with Cardiff-Villa-Derby-Millwall/Middlesbrough then I would be supporting Derby as they are by far the most likeable of those teams. They are so many six-pointers to come in the play-off race it is ridiculous, fortunately we are able to just watch and enjoy, should be entertaining. Bristol City are hopefully going to still be sinking and fall away but I wouldn't mind seeing Sheffield United or Brentford be the one to take the last spot. Both are enjoyable to watch.

Couldn’t see the bottom game so don’t know when it was or what I missed (no idea why I can never see it on my phone), but there was 3 in there and then I missed a winger from the 3rd game which I’d never have got and a defender from the Second game which was a shocker.

Edit - Just looked at the team from That game in 2012. 3 midfielders, if I could have seen what positions I needed I reckon I’d have got at least 2.

I reckon we'll go back to Cav-Jota-Costa tonight (the rest of the team picks itself). Afobe to come on around the hour mark.

How do they know? They have a Jipster too?

So whether it’s rubber-stamped tonight or not, congratulations to “FC Mendes” on going up. I’m sure that they will continue to benefit from the Mendes / Fosun relationship as they stabilise in the Premier League, but in honesty, the way in which it has been achieved doesn’t sit right when it ends up with fans chanting the name of an agent, instead of their own manager or players.

Translates as- wish we had thought of it and had the luck/nous/fortune to do it!

Moved to the Royal London - annoying loud crowd right next to me in the Boho!

I'm actually in a pub pre-match!!!*

*it's the north bank, not sure that counts tbh.

Did so well if you ignore him calling us "FC Mendes" and proceeding to finish by crying about how unfair football life is and just not understanding irony. Never mind

"It is frankly bizarre that players of the calibre of Neves and Diogo Jota are strutting their stuff in an unglamorous adjunct to Birmingham".

He has seen Derby, hasn't he? An unglamourous adjunct to Nottingham if ever I saw one.
