Can't see a relevant thread already for this, so.
Dunno if many (or any) people are in the National Trust but its been announced they are in the process of taking over the Ironbridge Gorge museums. It will mean all the museums attractions will be free to all NT members. Thats a pretty good deal imo and possibly worth anyone interested, especially families joining. My lad paid over 100 quid last year for a year pass for Ironbridge, so for a little bit more you get all NT properties etc.

We joined that National Trust a couple of years ago and found it excellent.

We have places nearby such as Croft Castle in Hereford and Combe near Worcester and Wightwick Hall in Wolves when we come up to visit my sister.

We holiday in England with the dog every year (Cornwall, Devon, Yorkshire, Northumberland) so we make sure we always visit a couple of local NT places. Even if the dog is not allowed in the old buildings they are always allowed in the gardens and cafes.

Just in case anyone is in the same position as us (not looking for any sympathy), Mrs HW is my official career, so her membership is free. This makes it incredible value.
