Crystal Palace (H) 11/5: Build-Up & Match Thread

I can see why he’s brought a more attack minded player on. Bellegarde wasn’t the one that I would have gone with but I can understand it. Toss up between Traore and Lemina for who to take off
No it's bollocks.

Apparently.

I get that we're missing Dawson, but let's be real, he's not VVD and we didn't exactly look solid anyway. We all know that recruitment has been shit, but equally unless it's individual brilliance from Cunha/Neto/RAN, we have no creative plan. It's absolutely shit to watch

Fatigue doesn’t push players so high up the pitch that we’re exposed 3v2 in Palace’s favor after every turnover.
Every team has to leave themselves open to that possibility at some point if they want to have a 3v2 in their favour elsewhere. Problem with Wolves is that they're so bad playing through from deep that they never get as far as the overload in their favour and repeatedly gift the opportunity straight to the opponent.

Top teams leave themselves open to the counter a lot but they're either good enough to do the 1v1 stuff when called upon or often just savvy enough to chop someone down before it goes too far.

It’s another game where we’re playing with 10 men having Hwang on the pitch.

Fully expect him to pop up with a goal shortly. Such a weird fucking footballer.

At time of writing, he’s been the worst player on the field by some distance.

From PTS' article today:

With Dawson in the starting XI: 42 games, 1.4PPG, 1.5 goals conceded per game, 40% win rate
No Dawson in the starting XI: 12 games, 0.9PPG, 2.2 goals conceded per game, 25% win rate
😉

I think the one thing the top teams do better than anyone else is prevent counter attacks

Think I'm adding Toti to the must sell list... fucking useless.

I don't think I've posted on here mid home match since McDons under Ken in 2015. And yet here I am.

If I didn't have a 36 year record of never leaving a home game early I'd have gone at HT. We're really poor at the moment.

How can anyone watch us leave our defenders so exposed time and time again and not think it's a problem??

The players deserve better than this madness.

May as well announce season ticket prices today and get all the misery out of the way.

He’s had a stinker tbf but not sure I understand how we are going to line up now

Looks like 4 at the back then with Toti LB.
