Cracking Story

The whole thing is a crock of shit, why commit two of them to driving but ignore the train? Then you've got that prick in his Fiesta trying to make a joke of Google not knowing about the A41, well it's based on live data mate and you're supposed to be the local with the insight so maybe you should've anticipated things would get busier and gone a different way?!

The Metro really is wank for the most part, it can be quicker for me to get into Wolverhampton and catch the train to Birmingham than get into Wednesbury and go there on the Metro. The extension to New Street seems pointless too, coupled with the planned extension to Wolverhampton station it can now provide an identical start/finish to the train journey only taking 3 times as long!

Hmmm, they really have excelled themselves here.

Whats better the M6 or a shit route into Brum that a 5 year old could find?

I am also perplexed by the lack of Train, it is far and away the best way into Brum City centre from Wolves centre.

The Metro is ridiculous, for a year I caught that thing whilst working in West Brom, I say I caught it for a year, it was for the 3/5ths of the year that it was working and I didn't have to press the buzzer to be told that it had broken down at Priestfield in the most unbothered voice ever.

This also excludes the times that you had to walk a stop along the tracks as it had gone down between two stations (this had the added benefit of feeling like you were in a second world war movie on your way to work) The old 79 bus was quicker which was a frequant substitute and that took in a tour of Darlaston.

In terms of scenary, Loxdale stop used to have a stunning vista from what I can remember, there was an estate that had been knocked down barring a couple of houses that had refused to leave, also the old 'jungle' at the side of morrisons Bilston was worthy respite of a tired eye

My wife showed me that story this morning. It reminded her of the time she booked a trip to Barcelona for us and on the Saturday we were due to fly out we realised she'd booked the hotel for Saturday but booked the flights for Monday  Thankfully we realised before we'd set off for the airpoirt and were able to get the hotel booking moved to match the flights at no extra cost. She hasn't been allowed to book a holiday since!

With a name like Richella it's no wonder the website assumed she wanted Alabama.

And it must have been dirt cheap compared to a trans-atlantic flight.

If you go to lastminute.com and start typing in Birmingham it comes up with the two options in a drop down clearly marked "Alabama, US, United States" and "United Kingdom", so it's complete fuckwittery all round.

Exactly.
This is a story that celebrates stupidity and (at best) carelessness/incompetence.

Don't think there's anywhere in the UK you fly to Las Vegas direct is there? Don't think Birmingham does much trans-Atlantic stuff does it?

A lot of things should've seemed wrong about that but she's steamed right in and booked it.

I've flown direct from London to Vegas before but you can't go direct from Birmingham (or at least you couldn't when we went). I think their flights were to Vegas via Denver though which makes the flight times even shorter!

My mate was trusted to sort out the tickets, travel and accommodation for himself and our mate for the Reading festival a few years back.

He did a cracking job, found an amazing hotel in easy access of the Reading festival site. But somehow managed to buy festival tickets for Leeds rather than Reading. And the train tickets were for the wrong weekend.

A wholly successful bit of planning there.

Virgin from Gatwick

Have they gone to the press in hope someone would feel sympathy for them and give them a free holiday?
