It likely seems more severe from an American perspective as we've given our AZ shipments to Mexico and Canada, all the while parroting that we don't think AZ is safe enough for regular Americans. Do you see what I'm saying now?

Okay, understood. It just seemed like a really bad take. In the UK the AZ vaccine has been a huge part of us getting our most vulnerable covered, and is only being held back from the under 30s (where the miniscule risk is marginally higher).
I see that things are totally different over there and can see that it can be a bad look, passing on the AZ to others.
I think it's very important that misinformation isn't spread about vaccinations. Over reaction to the AZ blood clot risk is part of why mainland Europe is so far behind with vaccinations. I am actually envious of how far the US has come on with vaccine availability, and seemingly without the 12 week wait for a second dose.

I should have been more clear that my original statement of AZ not being good enough was meant to be pantomiming the media here.

Put it this way: if I wasn't already vaccinated and someone offered me the AZ shot, I'd take it without hesitation.

Mrs Lincs was invited to her vaccine today. She's only 31 with no related health concerns, I was yet to hear anything about mine despite having nearly 6 years on her so checked and was able to book mine for Friday morning.

Going great guns in Derby if we're down to the early 30's or is that the mean for everywhere? Can't say I'm paying huge attention.

I’m 34, no health conditions and had mine 5 weeks ago. Can only presume it was a batch that needed to be used up. Sometimes it just seems random.

I know several people who've gotten vaccinated for that exact reason. called around the pharmacies in their area asking if they were having any expiring and got in that way. better to give it to any random person than the trash.

guess I got off lightly with any side effects from being vaccinated. slight ache in the arm, and at other points an ache across the shoulders and in the hips.
very mild headache.
all gone within about 36 hours.

for context, I am a complete wuss. I drink halves. I am terrified of needles (the memory of old TB injections etc). Family have been asking how I didn't pass out etc.

one volunteer I chatted with was a liverpool fan. he works at the airport, so whilst having time was volunteering on the programme. Nice fella. told me how he sees Nuno regularly at the airport (or used to). Spoke phenomenally highly of Nuno as a person.
Another was a villa fan. Both were totally sound people and we had really pleasant chats.
