Coronavirus

Anecdotally it seems to affect younger (relatively ;) ) people more often like this. Just neck paracetamol and ibuprofen and it takes the edge off and only seems to last 24 hrs or so after it kicks in.
Ach, she's older than me, not that I ever mention it :) So she'll be fine.

Had my 2nd (Moderna) on Thursday. Definite slight chill all day Friday but nothing serious.

One thing I noticed was that they asked whether we wanted the 2nd jab in the same arm as the 1st. Apparently it is around 50-50 those who don't care or mind and those who prefer the other arm.

The Janssen shot messed me up for about 72 hours. Didn't help that the needle was the largest I've ever had stuck in me, by a huge margin. Felt like my left arm was going to fall off for the rest of injection day.

Ah...you shudda had the shot in thr right arm and you would have been fine!!

My M-i-L, in Zambia, got her first jab today - some happy unintended consequences of lack of demand for AZ in other countries.
Feels gross that we (the west) are giving out our supplies of "not quite good enough" vaccines to other countries, but I suppose in this case I'll look at it more positively.

At least the clotting issue is easily remedied once it's properly identified.

That we, for once, does not include the U.K.

edit - there’s more to it that that too - the US big pharma companies are making huge profits off this. Developing counties will have to stick to sinovac and AZ as they are both not for profit. It’s not about ‘not good enough’ it’s about ‘not profiting off people dying’. Something which US pharma are incapable of.

Describing the AZ vaccine as "not quite good enough" is not remotely accurate.

It is not inaccurate, however, to say that it so far has shown to be both the least effective and most dangerous, such as it is.

That the AZ wears both of those crowns and is still a decent medicine is a credit to the work done on these drugs over the past year.

Least effective - no, last I saw sinovac has that by some way. Most dangerous is a ridiculous term to use, and by doses administered also not true I think - that honour goes to the J&J one.

Tough shit if it is. Three blokes short on my team tomorrow so I’m going in unless I am really REALLY bad.
