Coronavirus

My brother has had it. He had fever during the night and felt a bit tired for a week. I guess it is similar to what many of us had with the AZ Vaccine.

Thanks, all seem much the same...I'm going to be nodding off in the teams calls even more then

I wonder how many of these new hospitalisations are people who haven’t bothered getting vaccinated?

Hard to say. However I can pretty much guarantee they have got ill because the idiot in power thought sucking up to Modi was more important than closing the borders to protect them.

.... but don’t forget we’ve got the worlds toughest covid border policy.

Mrs Lincs has just been pinged to self isolate for ten days after coming into close contact with somebody with covid.

Some moron in her office yesterday came to work and calmly announced his wife had tested positive after a couple of hours, sounded like this guy, rather than being some conspiracy nut thinking its a hoax he found the whole thing a caper and had no sort of grasp on what the ramifications could be.

I suspect the stay at home order has gone to every phone in the office

What a cunt...

What a cunt...

Still a bit polite for me.

They sent all colleagues home with lateral flow tests last night due to it, other halfs was negative thankfully.

If it is him (and not say, some random on the bus) and hes affected the entire office i don't know how I'd show my face again, but then self awareness isn't a strong suit.

Sounds like willfully endangering his colleagues and their families. Sack him.

I presume your 2nd jab was the 11-12 weeks from the first? So you won't lose that spot. The worst that happens should be the exact same appointment option comes up. In reality you will get an appointment earlier than you have now (obviously if it goes tits up I will delete this post and deny ever posting it...)
Before I actually pressed cancel on the NHS site it gave my options of what dates I could move it forward to. So thanks for the advice, going two weeks earlier now.

I work in a school and the only person I know who's got it had their first vaccination about 5 weeks ago. Delta variant. So it's not just kids and anti-vaxxers at risk.

Same, thanks - moved 3.5 weeks up!

I think I'll just stick with my original date. What's the reason for moving it forwards? Didn't they say it should be 8-12 weeks?

The delta variant basically. 1 dose, especially AZ, isn't that great but 2 doses and things are back to 90%+ protection levels.
So over 40's getting their 2nd dose after 8 weeks but in some cases down to 5.
Majority booking now will get their 2nd dose within 8 weeks.

It still is between 8-12 weeks. Just closer to 8 rather than 12 now.

Mine were booked 11 weeks apart so I might try and bring it forward to 8 if I can

Data from admissions into leeds' hospitals suggests a significant number were young and not vaccinated.

The actual manufacturers said 3 weeks. The UK government went to twelve weeks to try and maximize first doses over fully vaxxed, to try and get at least 80% protection.
One dose being less effective against the delta variant, they are bringing forward the second.

Likewise, think I'm right at the 8 week end of the scale now and my area had been a hot-spot for cases so seems sensible. That and we have family overseas we'll be able to see sooner if fully vaccinated

Brought mine forward to next Saturday, 3 weeks ahead of my original date.

Really easy process to change as well.
