Coronavirus

I understand you're supposed to leave shortly after the meal is finished.
Most pubs/restuarants give you a time limit on how long you can be at the table. So no one is having a meal and then staying for a session

yeah just been looking at our local pubs and most are saying 2 hours should be enough for 3 course meal

Labour abstaining on the tiers so they'll be going through, bullshit that they are.

Not as bad as in Wales - if I heard it right then all pubs close to close at 6pm, but can't serve drinks

Why would you go to a pub for a meal & not have a drink - pointless

You heard it when I said it about five posts ago, I imagine ;)

I would happily go out with the missus tomorrow, have a meal and a pot of tea. Beats wandering around places in November weather, occasionally grabbing a coffee to drink on the street and going home as soon as it's dark.

But of course it is economically non-viable for businesses to operate that way. Crazy to think otherwise.

It was the page before & I couldn't be bothered looking back - I'm not forgetting things that quickly!

So in a nut shell, i may be coming home for a few weeks.
What are the current Covid restrictions? 14 day 5 day quarantine? Pubs open, pubs closed? Restaurants open?
Am i able to pop to the pub with anyone for a pint and a cheese and onion cob?

14 day quarantine though you *may* be able to pay for a test on arrival (about £65 I think) and if you're negative then 5 days. They haven't confirmed this yet.

Pubs aren't open round here.

Restaurants aren't open round here.

Cafes aren't open round here.

Except Shropshire.

Even there you can't go with anyone you don't live with or isn't in your "support bubble" (which wouldn't exist in your case).

Merry Christmas!

Well thanks Dan! (I Think..)

I hate to be the bearer of bad news!

I'd stay where you are mate to be honest, it's a mess here.

Yeah i read the news every day, it's pretty horrible here also, only difference is it seems like people are really trying back home, whilst over here from my observations people don't really care like they used to back in March/April
Thing is i'm really torn, my sister had an emergency brain op at the QE in Birmingham on thursday and had a bleed over the weekend, the Dr said she is poorly, but stable.
I know there is absolutely zero i can do, but being closer would help (For me anyways)

Ah, fucking hell big man.

It's a trite thing to say but you know where I am if you need to talk. Hope it all turns out alright.

Pubs are saved by Boris.

Pubs that don't serve food and have to close from tomorrow will get £1000 to cover December.
That should cover the losses for the month

Fucking hell, I've probably spent more than that in a single pub on my own during the Christmas period in the past.

Pfizer vaccine approved in the UK. Roll out starts next week
