Coronavirus

Traffic on the Bham New Road was easily worse this morning than it has been since March. My only guess is that parents who are now furloughed are driving their kids to school as its so cold.

Certainly doesn't feel like a lockdown so far.

Traffic on my commute was the same as the last few months, but two accidents on route meant that is took me longer today than it has since March. Click and collect services are allowed/available in non-essential stores so I guess that big name retail staff are still on the roads.

It seemed quiet on Monday morning but not since.

its only really a lockdown if you fancy a beer and a meal out or some general shopping. Everything else is the same

City of El Paso, TX - about 550 miles from here - is currently getting over 3,000 new cases per day in a population just under 700,000. Local officials have imposed a lockdown but the Texas state attorney general is suing claiming that only the state governor has the authority to do that.

Our local secondary school is closed today, not enough staff for it to be safe to open due to so many self isolating

It was very quiet out this morning, perhaps I’m out earlier than others (6am usually), but the roads were absolutely empty whereas before yesterday there would always be plenty on the road at that time.

It was deathly quiet round here yesterday. Not quite as eerie as the start of the first lockdown but getting there.

I think by and large people are doing what they're told.

My Dad has tested positive. General body aches, headaches and high temps but no cough/SOB. I was with him Monday and last week so have been instructed to work from home for 2 weeks.

Bugger all on the roads when I went to work at just after five. It will be interesting to see what it is like when I finish at four thirty. School run should be done so it should be deserted before five.

Bloody hell that's a long day !

I leave at 5:20 for a 6am start too. The roads are always busy between Burton and Coalville (A5111).

The guy who was due to take over for the afternoon shift has received a letter from the NHS telling him to shield for the next 4 weeks so I'm stuck here till half 5 tonight. Ah well, a chance of lots of overtime to come, I guess

COVID has actually been good for marriages with people saying their relationships are stronger than before due to supporting their partners in harder times.

Echo what paddy said, there's a definite tension, not nasty but I think that tolerance is strained, but the longevity of our relationship is based on having as little to do with the other as possible :)
