Coronavirus

Incidentally there's so much more stuff open now than there was in the spring. The hardware shop, florists, gift shop and at least one of the charity shops by me are still going. Maybe some other stuff that I didn't clock. As well as literally all of the takeaways. And we went in and got a coffee from Costa on Saturday, apparently we're fine to stand there together, order and wait, but no, you can't sit down here and drink it. No, me neither.

It's just hospitality, sports and entertainment that have been clobbered, which is patently nonsense. I'm not entirely sure the Government understand that people do need some semblance of a life.

I've had a few theories around theatre/sporting events where I can only surmise that the problem with them is the before/after as opposed to when you're there. Football grounds always made no sense to me as they're in clean, open air - obviously you can't be crammed together like sardines, but I see no issue with implementing social distancing to get some fans back in. Theatres have it, but it's not financially viable with social distancing.

Pubs are nonsense as they were open all through August and we didn't see much of a case rise. I've been to a few pubs/restaurants and I felt considerably more safe in those than I did down the local Aldi or Tesco.

We must have been in 20 different places since July. Not once has anything felt remotely unsafe, if it did then we'd have left. Even been to the cinema twice, that was fine.

Actually the worst of it has been when they brought in the crazy 10pm rule and suddenly absolutely everyone is milling around at the exact same time.

Yup. I've noticed it get worse over the last week or so in supermarkets - Christmas coupled with lockdown is sending everybody out of control. With the state of Aldi at the moment you'd probably be safer at a football ground with 30,000 and masks on...

BoJo is going to announce something tonight at 5

Can't imagine it will be anything groundbreaking - he will probably just talk about the vaccine. Sadly it has a few more hoops to jump through first before it is made available to the public.

He loves to claim a bit of secondary glory - he'll just be wallowing in what an american / german project has achieved.

Think it takes about three weeks to sort out the documentation (Phase 3 is the final bit of testing, so if the results are as reported then it's all set to go, just you need to have everything tied down legally etc).

I'm just hoping Prat Hancock hasn't got an email in his draft folder from April that he forgot to send. And for crying out loud, don't be giving the dispersion out to some terrible firm like Serco. I rather think they've done well enough out of this for zero national reward already.

Must say, it's going to be quite emotional when I finally get to go back to Molineux.

Can I hope that BoJo is going to resign out of sympathy for the Donald?

Absolutely. He'll probably give an update on the mass testing in Liverpool too - have we had any news on how that is going?

Not seen anything - randomly they did mass-testing in Eccleshall near me (in-breeding must make people susceptible) - the +ve figures rocketed for the back end of last week.

The BBC had the Biden press conference and then straight into Johnson's. I'm not a massive fan of the former much beyond him not being Trump, but the difference between him and this prick blithering on about arrows and bugles was stark.

They're down playing this which is the right thing to do.

They do like an analogy don't they!!

leaving everything open to interpretation, it's a convenient way of being able to later say "I never said..."

Can we leave him there please? And airlift Trump in.
Can put Hancock, Whitty & Vallence in as well - should get on

Suspect that as an older person will be reasonably high up the queue for any vaccine & will take it - not likely to be more at risk as a result.

Like Deutsch will be an emotional day when I can come back to Molineux - 8 months+ since I was last there.

It is only a matter of time before the conspiracy theories come out - that Pfizer have deliberately withheld the vaccine until after the election. A multi-national deep state plot to get rid of trump.

Don Jr is already there, was more or less when it was announced
