Comedians

Kenny & Dan,

How was Dara then?

Good as you expected?
Better than that or disappointing?

Oi! :bigfinger:

For everyone except WH, Dara was brilliant. Saw him 2 years ago & thought he was ok. I suspect part of that was because he talks very quickly, & being far away from the stage I couldn't see him clearly enough, which meant I was always struggling. Was a lot closer to the stage with a good view last night. He was simply awesome. #racismisbetterthanastrology

WH can wait for Dan or Kenny to come along & give a review.

Paul Merton on friday was ok. Very pleasant evening, but a lack of deep belly laughs. I sat there grinning through the whole thing, as it was funny enough to make me smile, but not laugh. Probably would have liked it better if I hadn't had a twat with obnoxious halitosis sat next to me though...

Now then, don't be touchy!
I didn't know you'd gone too, otherwise I'd have put your name right at the very top of the list....

That bloke's breath must have been bad if he was only sitting next to you.... unless you were engaging in a little extra curicular foreplay there Lemon...

Far and away the best stand up in these islands.
Guaranteed to make you laugh, after admiring his speed of thought.

In response to this...

So Kenny's off to see Dara tonight *stalker*

I'm going to see Paul Merton's show...

Dara is sunday for me.

S'alright tho. Kenny or Dan will be along to give you a report soon I'm sure...

He stank like someone who hadn't brushed for 3 years fella. When someone laughs, there's usually quite an amount of expelling of air. Hence, he stank. Bad.

Dara was superb, literally brilliant. Made jokes in seconds from what he was asking the crowd. How he came up with it was quality.

Defiantly recommend seeing him. 10/10.

Went to see Michael Winslow at the wulfrun last night. The man is absolutely fucking superb!

I'll never listen to an electric guitar the same again.

Nor will I watch Star Wars the same again, especially the excerpt in a new hope where the millenium falcon has a battle with some tie fighters...

Highly recommended show, albeit a little brief.

Just flicked through all 6 pages of this with the fear that someone may have mentioned Roy Chubby Brown but thank god no one did. Unfunniest bloke ever.

My personal faves are Eddie Izzard and Ross Noble. Noble is an aquired taste but he cracks me up. He's like a kid that's drank too much coke and has gone hyper. In the words of the great man "...there's a face, next muffin."

Ages ago my wife took me to see Charlie Ross do the one man Star Wars trilogy at the Grand Theatre and it was hilarious. One man doing the original trilogy by himself in about 2 hours. Brilliant.

Although not a fan myself. Tickets go onsale tomorrow, but I have received a presale link in an email from the Civic to allow purchase today.

Cannot stand Ross Noble. Not in the slightest bit funny. He just says really weird unfunny things that other people somehow think is endearing. I just do not get him at all.

Will have to disagree with you there Langers. I've seen him a couple of times and think he's great. Yeah some of the stuff is very weird, but most of his routines have had me in tears.

I just can't understand why though. Some comedians I don't particularly like due to their material but I can at least get that they are telling a joke.

Ross Noble doesn't appear to say anything other than mixed up gibberish. It's like laughing at an episode of the Magic Roundabout.

Same with the Mighty Boosh.

Mighty Boosh isn't jibberish. The dialogue is fantastic, articulate, unique and clever.

I've tried to watch it and I just don't think there are any redeeming qualities in it at all. I just don't get it in the slightest.

Watched an episode of Outnumbered last night (2nd series). That gets funnier the older my kids get and start coming out with little pearls of wisdom themselves.

I'm glad other have said this about that steaming pile of waste. Really not funny at all and Noel Fielding is just a bell end.

Off to see Jimmy Carr in December and the recently saw Tim Minchin who was truly hilarious. Sean Locke is still the funniest man I've seen live though.

I know people who think this and I've tried with it but just think it's pretentious twaddle. Not in the least bit clever or unique as Python did this kind of stuff decades ago.

We may disagree on Ross Noble but I certainly agree with you on Outnumbered! There aren't too many modern sitcoms that I bother watching but I enjoy this one. I would personally prefer them to re-run Blackadder rather than bother with new sitcoms!
