Championship 15/16

I don't see what's strange at all about judging a player based on your own experience of them, I think it'd be rather strange to go the other way and be letting the stuff from before your time influence your thinking above what you've seen for yourself.

It's just a matter of timing I suppose.

It is - but is it not understandable for someone who HAS seen their full career - which wasn't all bad - to then back that player up, as NWW is doing here?

Alan - you should have supported Wolves earlier and then given up back in 2010... ;)

I wouldn't boo a player for being shit (it's not their fault they are signed and then repeatedly played) I'd boo them for being a tosser. I don't know the ins and out of what Karl Henry did (NWW seems to) and he did offer some good times however it did end on a sour note, but I wouldn't boo him.

As stated though, Kightly did act a tosser and being one of my favourite Wolves players ever made it hurt more. And regardless of what he did previously, I'd boo him as a result of his later actions.

At no point have I disagreed with NWW's opinion, he's entitled to think whatever he likes of Henry or anyone else based on what he's seen of them, as is Alan, who's entitled to have a completely different opinion of him based on viewing a different, if overlapping, period of Henry's career.

It's the suggestion that Alan is 'wrong' despite him basing his opinion on a different data set which grates somewhat.

He's basing his opinion on a very short period of time

It's a very dangerous thing to do. Apparently Hitler wasn't such a bad sort, Thatcher didn't ruin the country and Stalin was an all round good guy!!!

I know he doesn't deserve the shit he gets off some for the Solbakken crap. He went above his heads out of concern for the club, justifiably so.

It's like going to a Metallica gig, and booing cos their last 3 albums were shit. Doesn't matter what came before, the boos are based on their most recent output.

Karl Henry will always divide opinion, but for me now that he's gone he will have my complete indifference

Ha, any player no matter how shit they think the Manager is will back him as long as they get a shirt.

First season we went up, Henry was immense. Carried on from the title winning season, when he was also very very good.
There may have been a fall out, but in Henrys case, the overall balance - for me at least, is that he was a positive one.

Kightly, as others have referred to, deserves to be boo'd. Judas bastard that he is.

I think that's about how I feel but with his decline he's not someone I rate anymore as a footballer.

Kightly I have still not recovered from, nor can I ever forgive him.

I see it like this: Henry was key to getting promoted once. He was also key to relegated twice. Net loss. Add on his attitude during our relegation campaign from the Championship ("we're too good to go down") and some of his political statements, and no, I don't much care for him.

I certainly won't be applauding Henry, i don't think i can be bothered to boo him either. Like has been said i'm just glad he's not playing for us as i don't rate him.

Political statements?! Sorry Alan I can't take this opinion of yours seriously!

Sorry,
I will leave you be.

Not that it makes any difference to the way he played or didn't play, but he's talking about his not paying tax on his hard earned cash to support scroungers.

Not worth the bother. Deleted.

I don't think you should be deleting it Stu. You have been on the high horse about this all afternoon frankly, and I don't understand why you can't accept Alan has an entitlement to have a differing opinion to you.

Plastics ay me

Yeah you were only here for the good times. ;)
