Burton build up...

Drink in The Western too. Gets crazy busy but good beer and never wait very long, it's just awkward to get around with the narrow passageways. If I were the owner I'd be speaking to the Council about putting a large gazebo up on Bailey St (or the car park) like at the Witton Arms at Villa because if we expand the stadium demand is only going to grow and they must be tipping capacity as is.

I worked in The Moon 05-08 and The London 09-12 so have a different perspective, always thought on match days the usual Moon scumbags would clear off to be replaced by Wolves scumbags, always felt we had adequate staffing mostly but that has gone out the window more and more since then to what is DW's summation today. Me and a mate I met working in there went in a couple of years ago and were gobsmacked how bad it was and it wasn't even busy. Neither of us have been back.

I was a duty manager at The Royal and our biggest issue there for years was our cunt area manager who had recrntly graduated and simply had no clue, he'd look at the previous years sales and unless there had been a home game wouldn't release the hours for us to staff it adequately regardless of our attempts to justify our spending - so if you ever been in one game and got served quickly and then took 30 mins the week after there you go. I'm glad to hear things have improved there.

It's the big crowds* fucking up the wait times. I guarantee you the Western is no better in that respect, I like the Posada but you basically can't move in there after 1pm. Realistically you now have to pick a pub around midday and stay there. Move after a couple of drinks and try to go somewhere else - you've got no chance (unless you're moving somewhere to meet someone who already has a table, even that's not a sure bet - the London wouldn't let Jinky in once but I reckon that's fair enough).

For quick service pre-match the Litten is probably the best bet as they generally employ good people. For some reason folk on here have a downer on it - to me I order broadly the same thing in every pub so I don't give a shit about the drinks, plenty of screens, near the ground, not going to have to wait forever and ever, cheap...meh. I'm not as fussy as others clearly. The Hogs is a better pub (owned by the same group) but it's rubbish for matchdays. The layout is just wrong - they can't do anything about that, it's just the nature of the building. It's a nightmare.

The Sunbeam has a Linton Travel Tavern vibe, I always feel very odd in there :icon_lol:

*Glory hunting wankers

The Sunbeam do full table service now, and I get 33% off drinks in there. If I could be bothered to try and convince anyone to go there I would.

Litten Tree is always pretty quick for service, as is Royal London tbf

It does bother me. I apologise for finding different irritants to you.

Oh really, no need to apologise.
I personally find the two blokes next to me who just sit there, dont sing, dont applaud and barely celebrate when we score irritants.
They may as well not come to be honest.

People not acting exactly as you want them to? The nerve!

Supporters not supporting..unless showing up is ok.
I'll have to remember not to show up for the actual match when I make the pilgrimage over, then.

The service at the Western is excellent even when it's busy. And if you know where to stand, you don't have to wait for more than 5 minutes. Even when it's rammed. It's quite something to see the bar staff working like robots!

It's one of my favourite pubs. I love the place.

Alan, would you just sit there and not show any emotion whatsoever during the match?
Just had a thought Alan, perhaps they arent actually Wolves fans anyway!..it would make sense to be honest, i will ask them tomorrow.
Be good training for next season i suppose.

I'm generally a pretty reserved person, and that has always translated when I go to sporting events. I like to watch and try to analyze what I'm seeing as best I can. I'd probably join in applause and certainly celebrate goals but I like to have a nice sit during the action and I'm probably the last person you'd ever get to join in on a chant.

But who knows! When I do get there, surrounded by some of you lot, I may be overcome by the enthusiasm in the air. We'll just have to find out sometime!

Now come on :icon_lol:

I don't mind it as a pub (it's massively overrated IMO, but it's decent), I only object to the Planet of Cunt who runs it. But that just isn't true mate :icon_lol: Not even close.

Erm.. no - it's what happens when I'm in there. It's way better than it used to be. Expert queuer, me.

If we win this game and extend the distance to third we are going up i think

I'm terrible at getting served in any pub. It's like I become invisible. The bar could be empty and it would still take me 5 minutes to get served!

I always get served very quickly in the western. But that is because I go in there virtually every day and all the bar staff know me. Usually they just tip me a wink and start pouring my beer in the middle of another round as soon as they see me.

On the train down now, buzzing for this. Win this and there's no way Villa/Fulham catch us. No way.

Get in about 12:30, probably going to head to the Western first for a few and then onto the London.

It's going to be a chilly one I think, but really looking forward to it. Hopefully we win and get a good goal difference boost to put pressure on Cardiff and end the hopes of the others behind us.

I hope we aren't complacent for this one.

It's a really good opportunity for us

I've always got served quite quickly in the Western standing at the hatch the other side of the main bar

We're having a good fried breakfast at Jack's Café and Bar, then we'll go check out Molineux and Wolves shop.

Aiming to be at the London around 11:00/11:30
