Fair, we did start with players at least notionally in their right positions thoughWe started with the same formation as the last game

No we didn't. Silva started and played much further forward than OO, and as a result Neto and Pod looked far better. We started with the same formation as the last game
It's far from the same in reality though, in terms of shape or system. A DM debuting at #10, and two wingers up top.We started with the same formation as the last game
Yes we did.No we didn't. Silva started and played much further forward than OO, and as a result Neto and Pod looked far better.
Difficult to know what to say about that. Burnley could've scored 4 pretty comfortably, and other than a few hail maries from outside the box, Pope didn't have much to do.
We're fucking BORING. Not even in the 'boring specifically to get results' kind of way that you can expect with certain squads, but just in a clueless offensively way. You can't really level at us that it's philosophical, we've frequently got plenty of attacking talent on the pitch.
It doesn't look like revolution to me, I'll be honest. It just looks like confused messaging and like we're lurching from shape to shape - but won't even stick to one after a win. Tbh I think he's a bit stuck in his own head.
But Pod and Silva play in a completely different way so formation was different.Yes we did.
It was Podence behind Neto and Silva against Chelsea. This time it was Otasowie behind Podence and Neto.
We should have just stuck with the former (or how we finished the game on tuesday) though.
Think players like Podence and Neto really need a focal point. On Tuesday it weirdly turned out to be Traore in the second half. They need players in front of them when the opposition are set in their shape.I do struggle to make sense of the team selection for today. I get why he's thought that today might not have been the game for Fábio up against Mee/Tarkowski but to play Otasowie instead...
I get the reason why, he's in there for his physicality that we were clearly going to lack with Raúl & Dendoncker out but it all seems a bit Kenny Jackett to me. Power!
We would've been much better off with Fábio or Vitinha.
I completely agree, add in calling out Lee Mason, who was a bit rubbish but not really that bad, and it looks like he's worried.Playing players out of position and tinkering with formations every game. For me, these are traditional "early warning" signs that a manager is getting desperate
Very much a box to box type player to me, should be played with Neves/ Moutinho instead of in front of them.Is Owen a DM? Whenever I see him play for the U23's he is always well forward. We have essentially tried to play him in the Alf role from the Championship as he is the only player we could really use as a target...and then proceeded not to create anything for said target.
Why would I do that? I'm not from Leeds and football doesn't really work like that. Appreciate the suggestion though. Can I suggest you stop supporting Wolves and try Leeds, much more your cup of tea.
Christmas bonus burning a hole in his pocket. Can't spend it on flights to get his family over for Christmas.Nuno probably in trouble after his comments about the referee. But surprised by them to be honest.
Nailed it there.Christmas bonus burning a hole in his pocket. Can't spend it on flights to get his family over for Christmas.
I don't think he is a manager acting as he is in trouble I think he is a man genuinly struggling with how things are right now. He is big on family and he can't see his and he is big on creating a family within in the team and outside of training and games he cannot do that currently. Please don't take that as an excuse for tonight, he got it wrong and the players generally also got it wrong.
Aye, they needed someone there to draw defenders out of position and create space. Either that or they needed the players behind them to be a lot faster in transition. Burnley are so quick to get back into their shape when they lose the ball.Think players like Podence and Neto really need a focal point. Still talking sense I see.Christmas bonus burning a hole in his pocket. Can't spend it on flights to get his family over for Christmas.

Did you miss the second half of the Chelsea game? Why would I do that? I'm not from Leeds and football doesn't really work like that. Appreciate the suggestion though.
Anyway, back to wolves.
I'd just quite like us to find a way to get our quality, attacking footballers, play some consistent, quality, attacking football. I don't think that's wildly unreasonable.
As bad as we were you also have to give them credit. They make it so frigging hard and you get what we did tonight, over thinking how to break them down.Burnley are so quick to get back into their shape when they lose the ball.
He's always been a box to box midfielder, getting the ball of the defence and laying it off or breaking forward. A 10 he is not.Is Owen a DM?
