Brighton & Hove Albion (H) build up 19/9

Whats the plan pre/post match for everyone tomorrow?

I'm staying over, get into Wolverhampton at half 12, a few in the western, drop my bag off at the hotel and then I'm game. Really excited about this, I'm even a little bit optimistic that we'll get an important 3 points. 1-0 Dave Edwards.

Western as per usual mate - we'll be there by 12.30. Probably time for some post match beers too - I don't fancy getting the train home at the same time that Villa v Albion finishes.

Still going strong....just reworked a new poem entitled 'Jeremy's students from hell'! He's a good lad! Was PA at Brighton for several years and provoked much controversy with his musical choice....you dont get Crass, The Clash and Sex Pistols played at many football grounds!

Does the Western have BT sport? Planning on watching Chelsea v Arsenal before the match. If not any suggestions appreciated. Cheers!

No it doesn't. The George Wallis has BT and Sky and is your best bet for watching the Chelsea v Arsenal game before heading to the ground

:icon_lol:

Just an odd two players to choose to make a stand about :D

Not sure how Byrne, Wallace and Ojo behind Afobe would work. For me it's like saying we've signed these three players so let's see how it turns out rather than being our best team.

For me, we should be playing Afobe and Le Fondre up top as a two.

I'd go:

Ikeme

Doherty (Iorfa if fit)
EEL
Hause
Golborne

Henry
Coady
McDonald
Wallace

Afobe
Le Fondre

Byrne is a right winger, Wallace is a number 10 and Ojo is a left winger. You might not have faith in their ability to all play together at this stage or doubt whether they're good enough full stop but surely they are the exact players you require in terms of position/profile to play in a 4-2-3-1, which we have played more than any other formation under Jackett?

If the le Fondre injury is serious enough to keep him out then those 3 behind Afobe could be a shout. Wouldn't be massively surprised to see George Saville given a chance tomorrow though...

Possibly, but I think it would be more important at this stage to use a formation to fit players with a bit of experience or at least ones that we know can play at this level.

Quite shocking how much we lack experience with players who fit the 4-2-3-1 formation.

We need to turn things round pretty quick as I fear with the age of our players they could easily crumble if we don't start picking up results.

James Henry will start though. Guaranteed.

Experience is an overrated commodity, especially in attacking areas. We've signed these blokes to play, you can't have a transfer policy which is more or less exclusively based on signing players aged 24 and under and then leave them on the bench because they're not weathered enough.

I agree with you DW, Kightly, Jarvis, Sterling, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Walcott, Sinclair, Kenedy, Hazard all started or have started at 19 for first teams. I'm not saying the rest of the teams they were in didn't have experience but it seems attacking players are much less at this risk than others.
