Brighton and Hove Albion (A) 27.10.2018

I think Jota has been fine until he gets to the box, when he checks back, trys to lay the ball off or goes full Freddy, when last year he would have driven forwards and his finishing was very good. Difficult one really, how long do you give him? Costa hid the the first half on Saturday and I've said before Jimenez doesn't worry the centre halves enough for me. Cav needs to start on Saturday, but a difficult call to say who it should be instead of. Personally I'd favour Jimenez

Jimenez is absolutely crucial to the way we play. He isn't getting dropped. For a start he actually has some goals and assists

Spot on Paddy. Its Jota or Costa for me, as much as i really like Cav he's not a CF.

Yet some of our best performances towards the end of last season were with the front 3 interchanging - Costa, Jota and Cav. Watford on Saturday had two lumps at the back, Raul didn't engage them and they got a soft time because of it. Dunk and Duffy are similar, they need something different to think about rather than a link man. Horses for courses selection for me.

We'd play Jota up front surely (although it would be very fluid)? As we did last season and that's where he often plays for Portugal U21s.

I don't know, it's difficult. I think the criticism of Jota is very unfair but by the same token if you don't score or assist after nine games in that position...you will be under threat especially as Cav looks good whenever he comes on.

We have dropped Jota before btw, Fulham away last season (then he came on and missed an open goal from six yards out).

Cav will start this weekend. I wouldn't be surprised if Traore does as well ( personally wouldn't start him). Simply based on the fact that despite playing well for most of the season our goal scoring is poor so justifying to the attacking players on the bench why they are not in gets harder each week.

Dendoncker will be on the bench as well.

If we are considering last season then Jota has to play, but ultimately we have played quite a few games this season and our most potent threats at IF are not delivering. We can't then go and drop the one player who, apart from Saturday, has been our most creative player and highest goalscorer.

Bet you a pint it's the same XI (barring any injuries...). Somewhat surprised Dendoncker hasn't yet made the bench yet, so won't challenge that...

Nuno has as good as said it won't be the same 11. He could change his mind, but I doubt it. Not sure Ireland did a lot for Doherty's confidence on Saturday, bigged up as some some sort of Messiah in their media and then (sort of) played out of position. Jonny was poor against England, I've not read it, but I can't imagine the Spanish press were very complimentary. These are the type of things we now need to deal with.

Think neither Jota or Costa's places are safe, but Costa has been slightly better over the last 4-5 games so Jota the first to be rested. Ultimately I'm not sure last season should affect thinking anymore, that was against championship players and so far he hasn't stepped up (not that Costa really has either).

No Traore though, still too much of a liability for me. Cav looks sharp on the pitch though and is something a bit different to the others so seems like a no brainer.

I’d drop costa personally - he’s had glimpses this season (had a good game vs Man Utd for example) but not delivered much - Jota works harder and links play more. The stats (cyber?) linked showed he’s created more chances than costa too.

Either way, Cav should start.

Really looking forward to this!

Hoping Cav starts, but I'd drop Jota instead of Costa. Think we'll do okay in Brighton.

My first Wolves Premier League game since the 5-0 drubbing at Fulham in 2012, and first Wolves game of any sort since the 2-0 kicking at Fulham last season.
Safe to say, I'm easy to please. Any improvement on those games will be very welcome.

Paul Merson has got us down to lose this 2-0. He thinks he got caught up in the hype around us but has now decided we're not all that and don't score enough goals.

Lawro has us drawing 1-1 and Richard Ashcroft called us "pretty hot" and has gone for a 1-0 win.

So basically, the predictions are all over the place!
