Boxing thread

Split decision for Whyte and could have gone either way. Credit to both
 
That was a great fight. Both deserve a lot of credit. I'd have given it to Chisora though.

Me to by a round but I can see why judges gave it to Whyte. A draw was the right result but very very tight and much much better than expected

Yeah, would have been best as a draw - could have looked forward to a rematch then.

Its a shame Chisora has been such a bell over the last few years, he could have been a really good fighter.
 
Thought Chisora won that did way more damage and looked like finishing it a few times cracking fight though. Bored of seeing AJ batter someone that clearly isn't up to it glad he's facing Vlad next. Also mega impressed with Katie Taylor she has just raised the bar for women's boxing lovely skills.

Blimey she looks different in that picture! Some very attractive female fighters out there MMA has Paige Vanzant who seems far to pretty to be fighting.

Was the first time I saw Taylor so hope to see more of her.

Did anyone watch the Gavin McDonnell vs Rey Vargas fight at the weekend, Vargas gave McDonnell a boxing lesson from beginning to end and the English judge then scored it as a draw. Your not going to get the Worlds best boxers coming over if you come up with that shit.

Happens all over unfortunately and no reason why we can't expect it to happen here. Doesn't make it right mate.
 
Haye vs Bellew shouldn't even be a contest. If it lasts four rounds I'll be surprised. Haye's just way too big and powerful, not to mention having an overwhelmingly better pedigree.

I'd have given Bellew a 10% chance at cruiser, at heavy then it's a 0.01% chance.

You're right, as an ex boxer I know you're right. I was told that a good big one always beats an excellent little one. My heart just feels an upset. Haye is such a cock! I really want to see him very trimmed up. I guess its Joshua who does that. No one comes close to him for me at the moment.

That said it has been done before. Muhammad Ali was a light heavy to start with. Evander Holyfield came up from Cruiser weight as did Michael Spinks ( he might even have been light heavy too) so it wouldn't set a precedent if Bellow won. Bellew is not as good Spinks/ Holyfield yet Haye is no Larry Holmes. If Haye is going to win he wins in the first 5 rounds. After then if Bellew has managed the fight well he could do him.

Haye v Bellew in doubt?

Haye is reportedly suffering from an Achilles problem and has travelled to Germany for treatment from his private doctor.
 
Haye weighs in 16st 9 Bellew 15 st 3. Haye has only been heavier once. That's a big weight difference. Bellew needs to keep clear early on.
 
bellew knocks haye down in the 6th. 7th round haye is struggling
 
Not sure Hayes corner should have let him carry on after the 7th.
Seen fights stopped for less,Haye looked in a state.
 
This is that 0.01% chance, Haye having to box on one leg. He can't throw anything, no balance.
