not really seeing a queue of ministers lining up to have a pop. this is a very different situation to may, who was always a lame duck. kwasi kwarteng really struggled to be critical in many ways, and to me, he seems to have been the most open about this.

A chilling sentence from someone who considers British people to be lazy. You're right - looking forward to the upcoming debates about pensioners and children having the 'freedom' to work.

Not sure why you felt the need to put it in this context but maybe it better society promotes and encourages the virtues of the fit and healthy giving to society rather than being ingrained to take from society.
 
What a great idea to get schoolchildren working. Obviously not all of them, the privileged ones with wealthy parents who would rather bung them a few quid to concentrate on their education won’t be getting back ache in the fields. A great way of increasing the divide between the haves and have nots.

No. That's harsh. The wealthy ones send their children abroad to work for the summer in an attempt to instil similar values that made their parents wealthy in the first place. Hard work and a respect for money. Saying all people with money just bung it at their kids is about as accurate as saying all benefit claimants are fraudsters. In both cases its a minority.
 
Boris Johnson’s Brexit team has been ordered to draw up plans to “get around” the Northern Ireland protocol in the Brexit withdrawal agreement so the prime minister can play hardball with Brussels over trade.

Officials in Taskforce Europe, run by Johnson’s EU negotiator David Frost, are working in secret on proposals to ensure that there do not need to be checks on goods passing from Britain to Northern Ireland.

They believe the new attorney-general, Suella Braverman, might have to give new legal advice to justify the move. Insiders say she was appointed because her predecessor Geoffrey Cox was not willing to countenance action that will be seen in Brussels as a breach of the exit agreement.

“There is deadly serious internal work going on about not obeying the Northern Ireland protocol,” a senior source said. “Taskforce Europe are looking into that. That’s why they had Suella put in there.”

Johnson once again showing what a crass idiot he is by openly saying they'll ignore large parts of the Political Declaration with the EU (the ink is barely even dry on it).

A big flashing red sign that says to every country in the world "don't trust us on anything", excellent work.
 
So he's threatening to walk away from talks. I thought he had a great deal. Oven ready and ready to go in fact. Surely he wasn't lying???
 
In fairness (I Know!) that related to the withdrawal agreement. However, it highlights the liberality of the truth used by johnson.

In other news, it seems despite the denials it is pretty clear priti vacant is clearly a bully. Everything we see about her tenure shows she is aggressive and nasty.
 
Our Prime Minister is invisible allegedly because he is writing a book rather than give back the £100k advance he was given to do so.

It says a lot about him that both of those scenarios are completely believable.

So at the moment:

- No word on who paid for his £15k holiday (during which there was a major international incident and he did fuck all)
- COBRA meeting which is an emergency...but it can wait until Monday as one has plans this weekend
- Spent an entire week pissing about in a country house rather than visiting flood victims
- More or less ripped up a Political Agreement that he signed mere weeks ago
- No word on this report into Russian interference
- No word on the criminal investigation into his misuse of public funds re: Arcuri
- Completely undermined his own 2016 promises to farmers

Tip of the iceberg that, he also has a Home Secretary going rogue and trying to fire people on Christmas Eve and a weirdo advisor hiring eugenicists.

The fat bastard is doing a bang up job it has to be said.

Rutnam was emotional as said he had “been the target of vicious and orchestrated campaign”.

He said that he had been accused of briefing the media against the home secretary, Priti Patel, – an accusation he said was “completely false”.

“The home secretary categorically denied any involvement in this campaign to the Cabinet office. I regret I do not believe her,” he said. “She has not made the efforts I would expect to disassociate herself against from the comments.”
