Boris at it again and the contest to replace the lying c***

It's an MP in his 50s who committed the offences between 2002 and 2009 while in office.

Just because I like to occasionally throw in random facts that have nothing to do with the rest of the post, Mark Francois is 56 and became an MP in 2001. But feel free to ignore that bit as like I say, it's unrelated.

I like that the Whip has asked that he doesn't attend Parliament... Bit difficult to attend when you're in a police cell
 
He will have almost certainly been bailed. The gap should be fairly noticeable as investigations take a little time.

As for PMQ's I thought that Starmer's line of questioning on the cost of living was good today ending with a question about the sick not being able to pay their heating bills because of the need for equipment at home. If only he could go off script just a little and throw back Johnson's claim about them lowering taxes and Labour wanting put them up with a quip about taxation being at the highest level since World War 2, then it would have been a slam dunk win for him.
As it was the Tory benches were very quiet.

Taking credit for something greenlit and started by Labour that then went under Conservative control for over a decade, that has been partially delivered 4 years late and already over £4bn over budget is stretching credibility quite a bit.
 
Also George Osborne cut TfL's public subsidy so that for the last five years it's had to raise its own revenues itself. Unsurprisingly Crossrail barely got over the line (even without getting into the delays) as a result, and all of the other future works that have been carefully planned out and consulted on and budgeted for the next 20 years are now on indefinite hold - including Crossrail 2, which Johnson seems to think can be conjured out of thin air.

And of course the Tories have been repeatedly hammering "Sadiq Khan/Labour have bankrupted TfL" in each election here, and of course it doesn't work because it's such a flagrant lie. We're still saddled with Johnson's shitty buses and cable car - his legacy here is spending loads on pointless whims, he has no standing to accuse any other mayor, Khan or anyone else to come, of being poor with money.
 
But still people buy their lies and vote Tory. For years I struggled with understanding why people vote Tory, but I think I figured it out. Tory voters are either/or/or both:

1. Heartless, soulless, vile human beings with the compassion and empathy of a viper.

2. Thick as absolute pigshit.

These are the only things I could come up with.
 
There's a very small sub-section of the population who actually benefit from their policies. So them as well. They are of course horrendously selfish.

In your Category 2 there will be people who think they benefit from their policies, but in reality don't, however they'll still vote for them.
 
No additional money yet for the cost of living crisis but money is there for tax cuts...

I’d say a large portion of the population vote for whichever will see more money in their pocket.

This as historically been Tory. And even if it isn’t as DW says people think it is
