Boris at it again and the contest to replace the lying c***

I know a fishing bait company in Telford has had a nightmare exporting bait to Europe. Some products don’t fit any of the allowable categories so can no longer be exported and the paperwork is horrendous. They are big enough to make the hassle and additional costs including getting veterinary certificates for every load worth their while but a smaller company in a similar situation would almost certainly knock it on the head. It’s all due to Brexit and nothing else.

Is there anything not falling apart?
Airports across the UK appear to be in total chaos - there are reports of passengers abandoning luggage and vaulting barriers to get on planes.
no trains coming out of euston, gatwick, stanstead and other locations soon.
millions experiencing a significant shock with the cost of living implications, and in particular the most vulnerable have not been supported by the government (am particularly thinking about the disabled/long term ill here).
civil servants being blamed for everything partygate related, and at the same time have been told they'll get a max 2% pay rise when inflation is over 6% and rising, and numerous other public sector workers who have done a [phenomenal job working in response to the pandemic will no doubt get even less than that.
And zero accountability, because its all due to something or someone else.
We've become quite a binary nation, in that you're either for or against us.
Theoretically no election for a number of years now (unless boris gets a fine, and I don't believe he will admit it if he has, and he continues to refute the law was broken even though the Met have identified that a significant number of people did knowingly break the law).
So whats gonna happen? Is everyone going to suck it up? Is there the potential for civil unrest?
I don't think the tories will really pay any attention to the may local election results, so I am genuinely flummoxed.

We have been informed over the last couple of days, that we will be balloted for industrial action. Not just Rail but ALL RMT workers.
I said it was coming and I predict a massive "YES" vote

Can you strike outside of the season please? It's a long journey even if the trains run correctly! 🤣

I reckon, by the time the ballots come out, are returned and counted, it will be late May, early June so yes, just for you, outside of the football season! 😂

Thanks Darlo, good to know RMT are being supportive of football fans 😂

Rishi Sunaks wife has a non-domicile tax status so doesn’t pay uk tax on foreign earnings. Not illegal by any means but another embarrassment for Sunak.

Agreed sniffer. Doesn't look good for him.
That said, it does now feel like sunak is being breifed against. Steady stream of anti sunak stories appearing.

Oh, & it now appears publicly funded photographers were present at downing st parties. Begs the question why? Document a party is the only answer i can come up with.

Lil' Rishi's wife has non-dom status (but obviously lives here). Not a great look for the tiny, tiny man.

I do wonder why super-rich people are predominantly as tight as a duck's arse, it wouldn't impact on her in the slightest if she paid what she actually owed. She's literally a billionaire. She could live to the age of 4,000 and not run out of money.

Edit: Just noticed Sniffer already mentioned it, apologies.

After 15 years of living here than she will will have to pay tax on foreign earnings under the current rules. There is no conflict of interest whatsoever that the man in charge of making or changing tax rules just happens to be married to someone who benefits (and thus his family do too) from the rules.

Still, he'll be able to continue to make large donations to a Public school that benefits from having a charitable status with the money his family is saving.

It's 15 out of 20 years. However if the HMRC were inclined to investigate her it is highly likely she would be considered domiciled (only residences are here, husband works here, children are educated here, plus many other ties).
If...

Does she pay tax in the countries where the income is earnt?

She does. But it is considerably less, and as a UK resident she should be paying it here.

Billy may have more information than me but I've not seen an answer to that question. Kwasi Kwarteng doesn't know either but she's been incredibly transparent in all of this.

But Kwarteng was unable to say whether Murthy paid tax on foreign earnings in India, of which she is a citizen, or another jurisdiction, such as the Cayman Islands.
