Boris at it again and the contest to replace the lying c***

wondering on the likelihood of a bozza fine, given rees mogg yesterday started blaming civil servants for giving him the wrong advice on the parties.
It seems the police view is that parties were held in the knowledge it was against the rules.

You can fuck right off with that image
You know its true though...

The selling off of C4 has really pissed me off and I don't even watch that much on there.

I can't wait for the day this government finally fucks off.

It's irrelevant whether you or I watch any of it. Plenty of it quite obviously isn't aimed at me. It's what it represents.

1) Because of its ownership/funding model, C4 indirectly invests massively in independent British studios. Won't happen under private ownership

2) Because a private owner won't run it out of pure altruism, the amount available to spend on programming will drop off massively. So will the quality

3) They're clearly doing it because they don't like C4's news output, nothing more, nothing less, which is by turns pathetic and sinister. Julian Knight has even admitted it this afternoon (actually quite a reasonable statement, though I doubt Johnson and Dorries are happy about him saying the quiet part out loud)

C4's news is by far the most interesting and impartial, it's the only news i bother to watch. It seems that will change soon.

ITV are upping their game tbf. Paul Brand has been very good over the last year or so exposing a load of the rotten shit at the heart of Government, and they've made their 6.30 national broadcast an hour long as opposed to half an hour. If they get rid of Peston who is the Lukas Podolski of broadcasting then they're in business.

I looked up that statement as I hadn't seen it, fucking hell...

"Now, elephant in the room time – is this being done for revenge for Channel 4’s biased coverage of the likes of Brexit and personal attacks on the PM? The timing of the announcement 7pm, coinciding with Channel 4 news, was very telling …

Undoubtedly, across much of the party – there is a feeling of payback time and the word privatisation tickles the ivories of many. The money is irrelevant – equivalent to four days’ national debt interest – so it must be used to support skills in creative sectors."

Oh and there was a report commissioned months ago that was supposed to conclude on the viability of privatising C4 (bear in mind the Tories have mooted this at least two other times since 2010 before backing down).

Never been released and Dorries drops the announcement (presumably based on the report? And not just on one of her whims, because that's not how Government works) when the Commons is in recess. They're genuinely pathetic.

It probably won't get through the Lords. The timescale is ridiculous and there's no justification for it, there are plenty of peers in there who understand broadcasting, it's nowhere in the 2019 manifesto, not in a Queen's Speech, it's not a finance bill. Being cynical it's a distraction tactic from the mountains of other shit - most pertinently, them shrugging their shoulders at energy becoming literally unaffordable for many - but it won't work as it just makes them look either spiteful or disastrously detached from reality, take your pick.

Dorries still doesn't seem to understand how C4 works looking at her tweets. You'd think someone would explain it to her, perhaps using glove puppets.

Explain it to her with a punch in the face for everything she doesn’t understand, works on the other twats who don’t understand, finance, health, military, schools, transport or whatever department they’ve been put in charge of

She did a terrible interview (no, really) a few weeks ago which was along the lines of 'Boris put me in Cabinet and therefore I will back everything he ever does or says, 100%'. Where do you even start.

I hate her, she's that potent combination of thick and nasty. To think a few years ago I thought Esther McVile was the tip of the iceberg.

Same. I watch it on All4 and its by far the best of the UK broadcasters for news.

Also - the documentaries like 24hrs in Police Custody, Putin: Russian Spy Story, 24 hours in A&E, 999 On the Frontline, Dispatches etc..... all high quality and taught me about stuff I didnt even know I was interested in.

All4 is our go-to TV player after Netflix. It's terrible to see how the Tories want to destroy one of the best channels in British television.

They've got this ridiculous narrative that 'C4 can't compete with Netflix'. No and they won't after you've sold it to one of your cunt mates either.

Wolves can't compete with Real Madrid, shock horror.

Tap in for Labour. The 2019 Tory manifesto says 'we will support Welsh institutions such as S4C'. Just ask how selling it off 'supports' it.

The 2019 Tory manifesto also said there would be no tax rises. It's almost like they are a bunch of lying cunts.
