Rishi Sunak doesn't quite get the fact that questions will be asked that his family are gaining from a shareholding in a company operating in Russia. He's a leading figure in a Government that are doing all that they can, economically and politically, to stop the war in Ukraine and encourage companies to stop doing business there. There isn't a simple solution to his wife's shareholding in Infosys, but he could at least state something along the lines of that he or his wife have no say in where the worldwide company trades and will make a personal donation from any income received from the Russian element of the business to a victims of Ukraine Charity.
I don't think people are going at his wife more his connection to his family involvement in a company continuing to trade in Russia. Him getting riled by it shows that he thinks that the criticism is unwarranted and further shows how out of touch he is with the public.

Actually, it’s very upsetting and, I think, wrong for people to try and come at my wife, and you know, beyond that actually, with regard to my father in law, for whom I have nothing but enormous pride and admiration for everything that he’s achieved, and no amount of attempted smearing is going to make me change that because he’s wonderful and has achieved a huge amount, as I said, I’m enormously proud of him.
