Scandalous.
Interesting piece on how the fear of death makes people more right wing, if anyone's interested:
It was written in 2016 about the psychological effect terror attacks have on people, the original idea comes from a book published in the 70's called The Denial of Death. Read that a few years ago and it blew my mind. It's hard not to be really fucking worried that everyone in the world has been constantly reminded of their own mortality for a full 18 months now. Covid really could be the support band before the main event IMO.
Good question, I get a sense it's making us more right wing, but I'm biased. The thing that worries me the most is the totalitarianism, left of right. The idea someone can have a different opinion and still be a good person seems to be disappearing. What do you think?Has this made us more right wing as a nation or people though? Or just more comfortable with an increase in totalitarianism, which is neither right or left wing?
breaching their own manifesto ain't they?National Insurance to go up by 1% to pay for social care after previous policy of just killing them didn't work in big enough numbers
Yep, i'm with you there, just looking at something as simple as the masks in the last few days, the anger on both sides is insane. For me, if people want to wear them, fine, if they don't, fine.Good question, I get a sense it's making us more right wing, but I'm biased. I don't think you are allowed opposing views anymore and there is certainly is a need to be triggered, take any contentious thread on here, I know he's a Corbynite comedian but this is so apt :We are so divisive now on every issue, i'm not sure that's necessarily a right wing thing either though as both sides who disagree seem to equally nasty, but i definitely recognise we are far less forgiving of opposing views than we used to
I just assumed that you didn’t have any opinions, I didn’t realise you felt that you weren’t allowed them.I don't think you are allowed opposing views anymore and there is certainly is a need to be triggered, take any contentious thread on here, I know he's a Corbynite comedian but this is so apt :
