When did he say 'I don't like Wolves'? Have I missed something there?

My issue with him is how bloody miserable and whiny he was throughout. He honestly sounded like he'd rather have been anywhere else - it wasn't like it was an uneventful snoozefest of a game.

He was dreadful. Birtles-esque.

Was all over Twitter. Left his mic on and said it in background when they were in studio.

I don't think there was really anything wrong in what McManaman was saying at all, the problem was the delivery more so than content, the way he was going on about it anyone would think there had been 5 minutes left in a cup final and the losing team still weren't trying to make anything happen to get back into the game rather than half an hour into the first game of the season with a newly promoted team looking a bit unsure of themselves.

Yeah exactly. Just because the opposition are down to 10 men doesn’t mean you need to go gung ho. Particularly when we don’t naturally play that way anyway. When you go a goal down at the big teams you don’t suddenly open up. Stay in the game until the last 10 then give it a go.

I think many pundits miss the key point of why such and such is happening and why the coach wishes for such play rather than saying this is what I would prefer. Just because its being done different doesn't make it wrong.

Agreed. As above, Nuno is more cautious than Kevin Keegan but either strategy isn’t necessarily better than the other. New season, new league and tough opposition you can excuse a bit of caution rather than going 0-2 and a losing at home to ten men on the opening day.

Think there was ample scope for Wolves to be more pro-active without necessarily going 'gung-ho' long before it go to the final 10 minutes. I imagine the thinking with the defence being deep is that it stretches the pitch, draws the opponent out to close them down and then you can use those long cross field balls to cut the pressing players out of the game and create some bigger spaces for the likes of Jota and Costa to exploit, that was never really going to happen when Everton had gone down to 10 men though, they weren't going to press as high so the defence going deep and keeping it in safe areas was just going to be allowed by Everton whilst they kept their shape and retained some energy. Having the man advantage they needed to put that extra body somewhere it was going to cause Everton more problems, create an overload in a more threatening area rather than have three centre halves up against Tosun 15 yards inside your own half.

I agree. I was on holiday so couldn’t watch it live and watched it yesterday having known the result. If I’d been there live I’d have been asking for us to me more attacking as well

Social media are good at cutting stuff to suit. Maybe as people are saying the continuation of that was cut after the 'I dont like Wolves' bit, he may have gone on to explain it better if it was left on or BT didnt cut.

Nah Jase, he's a cunt...

Probably someone in control of the mic's thinking "Ah, for fuck sake Steve!" and cutting the mic before he really embarrassed them

Watching the debate on sky from earlier and they've got Liam Rosenior on. He's been very good so far. Unfortunately the same can't be said of Steve McMahon with him

I like Rosenior. Coaching with Brighton i think now and has been doing his badges for a few years.

Jim White on Talksport, just won’t let anything bad be said about Scottish football.

Think it was a blessing in disguise back in 2011 when Keys & Gray ballsed up and got booted of Sky.
Coverage since then has gone up considerably since they left.

No disguise about it, Gray was becoming a parody of himself (as Hansen did too) and Keys has always been a despicable cunt.

Keys is a self obsessed moron, has his cronies in the game Peter Reid, Hoddle, Bruce, Allardyce et al.
Vomit bunch who the sooner leave the game the better.

At the time, I thought Gray had had a raw deal getting sacked when Keys was clearly the bigger prick of the two. But Gray's detachment from facts and reality ("when was Tony Blair prime minister? 1970s? 1980s?") has shown that Sky made overwhelmingly the right call. The difference in standard between GNev and Gray is palpable.

They’re a dated pair who are stuck in a 90’s time warp. Keys still thinks Hoddle should be in a job somewhere.

McManaman is near to cleaning up in his class here. Complete and utter shitehawk.

The guy we had on MOTD on Sunday was a bit cunty. Didn't catch his name.

It was cliche bingo with the Portuguese lads, more players than Porto etc, we played without intensity(!) Going on like it was 2017.
