Beer

Got a Wicklow Wolf elevation pale ale waiting for later. Any of our Irish posters know if it’s any good or has connections to Wolves supporters?

No connections as far as I know but its brewed in Bray, the seaside town home to the other Wanderers.
Lovely stuff too - they have a fine selection

Anyone seen any decent Black Friday beer offers? Need to re-stock for Christmas.

Some good multipacks on Beer Hawk. I think Beer Merchants are releasing their deals tomorrow. Honest Brew have done their usual Spin to Win thing - prizes vary from a bottle opener and free delivery up to a £50 credit and 'Beer for a Year'.

10% off at Arbor, 20% off at Lost & Grounded starting tomorrow. That'll be my beer stash done, with a few top ups from the Verdant taproom.

Hawkstone lager from Cotswold brewery. Promoted by Clarkson using barley from his Diddly Squat Farm.

Tasteless and costly. Not sure about the lager though.OurStory.jpg

Quite happy to try the odd bottle of random beer now and again, but the other night had one that was so strange just couldn’t finish it and it went down the sink which is definitely a first. Sort of, I dunno how to describe it, sour?

Any of you guys tried it or know anything about this stuff?

Not had that beer before but I'm intrigued now!

I didn't get on with the Geuze either. It's certainly very different to any other beer.

The one I had tasted like a fizzy sour cider with an odd aftertaste.

Not for me

Geuze is basically blended Lambic, so is very similar to other beers.

IIRC Lambic beer can be far more sour. There's a place in Antwerp called the Kulminator I had and old Lambic there and only just managed it as it was so sour usually they are excellent.

Nothing to do with taste buds. I was just pointing out that your original statement was incorrect.
Thanks Phil, good to know you're here.

We were low on our pedant count.

I meant it was very different in taste, but I'm sure you knew that.

It's an acquired taste, that's for sure. I don't have them very often, but when I'm in the mood for one, they're superb. Champagne of beer for me, Clive

Just finished off a Duvel and about to start another. No matter how many beers I have tried in my lifetime(And I daresay its over a thousand by now) Duvel is still my favorite by far.
