Aston Villa (a) 30.11.25 Build up and match thread.

Getting pinned back now. Need to continue to offer something offensively or it just becomes attack v defence.

Arias at least looks to keep the ball when he wins it rather than punting it right back to them. The step up compared to Munetsi and Hwang is colossal. Looked like rotten luck with the disallowed goal rather than stupidity.

Colossal? A step up perhaps, I wouldn't over-egg it though mate; he's also shit

Jackson stood in acres of space on the right so Joao knocks it 2 yards to Andre who loses possession.

It’s not good enough.

Doesn’t matter what you think of Jackson, our best moment of the match came through him, so pass the bloody ball to him.

I honestly think Arias is a colossal step up in terms of quality on the ball from Munetsi. What you make of the actual scale behind that compared to the relative one is, well… but I’ll stand by it.

Wolfe's crossing is pretty shit isn't it

Not sure what's wrong with both of our LWBs in that whenever they get anywhere near the 18 yard box with the ball they just automatically cross it; regardless of their own position, the angle or who from their own team is in the box. Just weird

Ok quality on the ball yes, your original comment wasn't as specific

Strange that they literally won’t pass it to him. Just done it again.

The lineup whas correct.

I ask all days for that:
- More MFs with passing.
- The Wings more up.
- Put more balls on area.

Now are working on that all games

There are good times to pass to him (stick the ball in front of him when he's in space), and less good times (when he's penned in by the touchline). We've seen how awful his touch / composure is - I expect the other players see it every day in training as well

Great keeping that. If he doesn't get such a decent hand on the header that potentially comes back off the ball and into him, also adjusts as he is falling and palms it away.
