2015 Cricket World Cup Australia/ New Zealand

An they want to get rid of the associate nations...They have produced the best matches of the tournament by far.

Ireland win. Just. That 'catch' is going to be quite the talking point.

Absolutely. A great game, and while I am pleased for Ireland, I must feel some sympathy for Zimbabwe, who ran them all the way. Well played both teams.

Did Williams just walk off or was he given out? For me you can see his foot on the rope so it should have been 6 which would have won them the game.

Wrong call for me you can see the rope slightly move as he plants his foot, by all accounts Williams had walked off before the decision was made which is daft.
Ireland played well but were very fortunate in this one.

If Williams has left the field of play then he has effectively given himself out then.

I wonder if either Williams or the umpire had asked the fielder if his foot was on the rope. Either way, Williams accepted he was out and walked.

Which is silly if there's any doubt you stand your ground, but the umpires also have to tell him it's being reviewed.

Maybe through Irish eyes but I thought the "movement" of the boundary rope was just Mooney's shadow coming off it as he moved away from the ropes...damn close though.

Unless there's a rain affected game somewhere, the Pakistan match is basically straight knockout.

Yep will be looking for a rain-dance either tuesday or for next weeks game. Unless India let us win just to fuck up Pakistan's chances, but doublt that somehow, between Mooney's catch which is that close cant tell either way and the bails not falling off in the UAE match we have probably used up all our luck so far and I have a feeling we will miss out on the Q-F by run rate, cant see us beating India and will be meeting Pakistan at the wrong time.

No matter what happens now, we will have had a decent tournament 3 wins and 2 over full members, and ranked best one day side outside the elite 8 is not bad going.

It's absolutely lashing it down in Adrlaide by all accounts, it would serve England right if they went out because of the weather. But on the other hand it would give the likes of Morgan and Moores an excuse to bang on about a hard luck story.

Bangladesh were 99/4 and England have allowed them to get to 224/4. England's bowling is just tired and predictable.

Broad has to be the most idiotic bowler there is - how many times does it have to be proven that bowling short isn't working?

I overheard a conversation a former England great had with someone in a hotel last week. He was scathing of Broad, particularly as a person

Always struck me as an arrogant cockwomble, but that's not a particularly bad trait in a professorial sportsman.

Great bowling from Jordan there, if we actually play him he could develop into a really useful cricketer

England should be ok. 107 - 2 after 22 overs. Keep wickets in hand and we will win with a few overs to spare.
