100 mile ride in support of Ikeme

Great stuff Machin, very well done.

I'd rather not think about his dodgy package so soon after breakfast TBH.

Not sure about the EPO but if passed us bidons of champagne, coffee and honey mixture for energy then I'd be all for it.

Brilliant effort, Machin. Congrats on both the ride and the fundraising.

Fantastic stuff machin - huge kudos for all you've done!

Have you registered for next year yet :icon_wink:

Been on the 2018 Pre-registration since before I signed up for the 2017 ride :icon_lol:

This is what Bewdley looked like yesterday:

The noise and atmosphere was breathtaking. As was the punchy little climb coming out of it; albeit for different, more literal, reasons.

Great photos - Bewdley is great for things like that.

Just added another fiver courtesy of a PayPal offer to get £5 off my next purchase. Decent of them to support your ride ;-)

Yeah man, do it! We'll have a TWF team...

LJ, JLovatt, Keef, Metal_Warrior, Penk, Wombat....???[/QUOTE
Id love to give it a bash, but unfortunately I'm aiming to ride to Kazakhstan from Kraków in Poland starting april 15th! Flight gets booked next week
Just drop that in [emoji23] I'd love to do super long distance but could start with next year's Velo quite nicely.

Machins ride was a lot harder than what I'm aiming to do,against the clock with thousands of others, having to keep a good pace for 8 hrs or so.i did a couple of 100 mile days in the Ukraine because I had to get to the next village for water and food(yes some were that far apart) and I couldn't move the day after.
Mines just going to be a plod at an average of 5-8mph loaded with 25kg of luggage, with stops for anything that looks interesting, cups of tea that sort of thing.

On your own, Keef, or will you have mates with you?

On my own,it's about 6000 miles I think(haven't looked),17 countries,2 continents and 6 visas, going to take maybe 12 months solid cycling,18 months in reality,I've got to have 6 months off in Georgia/Armenia for the winter weather -20+ and could be 2-3 feet off snow, that's if I get that far, aiming to do it on £5-7.50 a day! Going to be a lot of wild camping, but I can get free accommodation through cycle touring website, where you stop in random strangers homes after emailing them,I'm already a host on this site,so I'll just swap and be a guest instead

Sounds insane but brilliant.

I know which I would rather do :icon_lol:

This appeals to me so much, although I'd probably head through the warmer countries (once had a similar idea of London to Burma for charities that interest me - 7000 miles I think). However should have done it when I was younger and had less commitments...
