    Your first Wolves game

Carlisle United, January 14th 1967, I was 6. It was 1 - 1, Ernie Hunt scored for us and they equalised with a few minutes to go. I stood in the enclosure with my Dad.

    Wolves 2-0 Brentford: Verdict Thread

I thought that after the non-penalty he lost control with lots of dubious tackles going in from both sides that went unpunished.

    Another shooting.

I always wondered if that was the case, being a chemist. It doesn't make sense linguistically, as Johnny has said. Words gain their meaning by usage rather than derivation. Just look at yoof (or would the purists prefer "youth") slang words that mean the opposite of what they mean to others.

    Climate Change Debate

The move to batteries is too far advanced for hydrogen to be the main solution for automotive. It will play a part, quite possibly for retrofit as you suggest. Green hydrogen is some years off, and in my mind blue (from fossil fuels with carbon capture) hydrogen needs to act as a transition to...

    Climate Change Debate

Most post-2005 petrol cars are able to enter the ULEZ. I appreciate it’s a problem for some, but not many. Far outweighed by the improvements in air quality, with the associated health impacts, which will have most benefit for the less well off. You’ll be pleased to know that Cambridge is...

    Climate Change Debate

There’s no doubt that BEVs will eventually account for the majority of passenger vehicles. The remaining questions are how long will it take, will there be any competitive technologies, such as FCEVs, and what will happen with commercial vehicles. The real tipping point will be when the cost...

    Climate Change Debate

Forgive my pedantry here, but this is my area of expertise, having worked in vehicle emission control for more years than I care to remember. A 68 plate diesel, and indeed my 64 plate, will meet the latest emissions regulations, Euro 6. There isn’t any viable way of restricting entry to the...

The Cambridge fans I know are raving about him. "A level above the rest of them" was one comment I heard. Not sure he'll save them from the drop though.

    Non League Football.

I think you'll find King's Lynn is further north than Kidderminster or Telford. It's a good hour north of here and people are always surprised that Cambridge and Birmingham are on approximately the same latitude. East Anglian teams always end up in the Conference North, even as far south as...

Lots of Cambridge taxis are licensed in Wolverhampton. I always wondered why.

New - The things that really annoy you

Makes sense given she's aiming mostly at people with restricted resources, given that, according to the Tesco website: 420 g tin baked beans 50p 400 g tin haricot beans in water (i.e. baked beans with the sauce washed off) 70p I'd definitely make a veggie chilli using haricot beans, not sure I...
