New - The things that really annoy you

When you buy a bag of sugar, you pick it up and make sure it's not leaking. When you get it home you open the flaps carefully so as not to spill any all over the kitchen. Any loose sugar under the flaps you brush off into the sugar bowl.

Difficult stuff I know.

This is why I only ever buy sugar in boxes of sachets. It's just too confusing otherwise.

Whilst I am grateful for your grounded advice, I don’t see flour all around the flour packets - why is sugar packing not taken more seriously?

Must be some kind of conspiracy from Big Sugar, just so people waste more.

Since when did supermarkets just start firing your groceries at you as quick as possible, and then tell you not to pack them after they've scanned it but load it back in your trolley to pack by the doors?

Properly gave me the hump this lunchtime, Mrs Trips assures me this is the future

Yeah they do this in Aldi and it does my head in.

If you go to Tesco they let you pack it while they scan it through though.

The main issue with that is having to go into Asda.

Got to choose your nanas with the perfect yellowy green hue.
Yes and if you want those tiny mushrooms, you won't get the option on your on line list. Leeks and Courgettes, Loads of fruit and veg that I'd prefer to hand pick. Though my wife thinks that sitting down at the computer for 20 minutes and waiting for 5 Tesco boxes to arrive the day after is the best way to go.

Had an argument at an aldi recently where I had a trolley full and they wanted me to self scan. I refused as the scales by the self scan were smaller than the amount of shopping I had. Twat asking me to self scan was really unwilling to let me go to a till, and I was very insistent, pointing out the belmer was essentially putting himself out of a job by promoting use of these self service machines.

And it is not quicker or more efficient for me, it is more troublesome.

Us pensioners have to find something to fill our day.
Joking aside, for some it may be the only actual human contact/engagement that person has all day. And some want to take that away from them.
