A lot of the kids I teach don’t carry cash or cards, everything is done off their phone.
I teach a bit in economics about how the financial system works, so today will go into my bank of case studies.
Christophe Berra, specifically his cuddling at corners, was inviting a penalty every bloody time.
Rajiv van la Parra, seemed a nothing of a player, didn’t bring anything to the team. Summed up the final Jackett seasons. I saw him score and even that was rubbish.
Showing willingness seems key in France. If you try French they’ll help you out in English, if you go straight to English…. blank faces, even if they speak it.
Strangely Iceland is the upmarket store that has all of the UK brands imported that you can’t get locally. If you want Yorkshire tea, marmite, you have to go to Iceland. It is really expensive, though.
On the language, my folks moved to Spain a few years ago, my dad is always wanting to...
That’s the south Basildon bit, down to the Thames and outer edges of Thurrock. A proper shit place to live (I did for a bit, my kids were born there and I couldn’t wait to get back out), hit hard by decline in industry along the river, it’s cheap so lots of Eastern European migrants. Brexit...

A fresh perspective and approach is needed...
I was thinking she was alright, but I’d got her mixed up with Mhairi Black. Standing down, sadly.
My MP (down in Essex) isn’t too mental, except for backing Truss, and it’s a pretty safe Tory seat, but even she’s in danger - have seen some predictions of a Lib Dem win here.
Life skills / citizenship / PSHE has had a big push lately. I teach business & economics and always included real world stuff even though it wasn’t on the exam spec; I hated that something so important wasn’t covered, but it’s much better now.
The biggest challenge is getting kids to engage...
I found a question of sport football quiz game from the mid 90s in a charity shop. One of the cover photos is Wolves vs Man Utd (from pre-season ‘94, I think).
Any ID on the Wolves players?
I think one of them is in year 12 at the school I teach at. Dropped economics after 3 lessons, which is about 3 more than most tories seem to have had.
