I've never seen him play but noticed this on the article on the club site:
"he has shown capabilities on the ball, which has also allowed him to play left-back and centre-midfield. Although Meupiyou has been recruited to play centre-back in gold and black, he provides an asset in his ability to play in multiple positions and systems."
Hobbs looks to have remarked similar about his versatility. Looks like the intention is for him to provide depth for both CB and LB.

Signings like this and Gonzalez last year are a dart throw. A pittance in the grand scheme of things and not directly taking money away from first team signings given we know the budget is whatever Fosun/Jeff decide it is on any given day and we'll only sign players is if we perceive we've won a negotiation.
