Trump

Not just the Natives we did dirty innit.

(To be clear, any story you’ve heard about Americans buying Native land for beads is apocryphal, though upsettingly pervasive).

Also, Russia was broke as fuck at the time. Crimean War I think.

We do use some of these! Maybe not meaning the same, though. Always loved how melodramatic “torch” is in place of “flashlight”.

At the risk of it meaning the same there as here… “rubber”?
Dummy = pacifier
Rubber = eraser

Yes Russia was broke after the Crimean War and wouldn't be able to defend Alaska against the Brits (if required).

Norway’s largest oil bunkering operation, the privately owned Haltbakk, recently announced a boycott of its occasional supplying of fuel to US navy ships.

Referring to the fiery meeting in the White House between Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Trump last month, the company posted on Facebook: “We have today been witnesses to the biggest shit show ever presented “live on TV” by the current American president and his vice-president.
“Huge credit to the president of Ukraine restraining himself and for keeping calm even though USA put on a backstabbing TV show. It made us sick.
“As a result, we have decided to [immediately] STOP as fuel provider to American forces in Norway and their ships calling Norwegian ports … We encourage all Norwegians and Europeans to follow our example.”

I’m smart!

Dummy makes sense there. “Dummy nipple” I s’pose. Rubber, though, means something very different here. 😂

I find it highly hypocritical, complaining about a country using tariffs against your country, whilst the same country uses tariffs against other countries.
Anything that doesn’t help Trump is a criminal offense dontchaknow

They are imposing the tariffs in response to what Trump is doing... What don't you get?

The only way to face down a bully is to bloody his nose (but then teacher will be along to tell you that YOU'RE in the wrong for standing up to said bully)

The EU EV tarrifs are in place because Chinese govt subsides EV manufacturing so the tarrifs are there to protect EU car makers and safe guarding jobs.

If Trumps tarrifs were a good idea then the US stock market wouldn't have reacted the way it did. They're illogical and do the opposite of what he's intending, no one wins.

Well, like Trump keeps saying, he thinks the tariff is paid by the country it’s imposed on. Which isn’t really how that works.

The EU and Canada already had a policy of using Tariffs, before Trump got in to power. I don't agree with Trump's Tariffs, but also find it harder to have sympathy, with those who do the same things and then complain when someone does it to them.
