Trump

“As global stock markets tumbled on fears that Donald Trump’s trade wars will fuel inflation and tip the US into recession, shares in the electric car maker fell 15 per cent to $222.

That took losses since its highest ever close just shy of $480 in mid-December to 54 per cent.

The slump has wiped £645billion off the value of the company and £120billion off Musk’s own fortune.”

Great link. And, as we know, they want even more juicy government contracts transferred to them while they destroy so many lives and livelihoods.

Part of me thinks this is all orchestrated, get asset prices to tumble so they can be picked up for cheap.

I think the wider shares slump is something that would definitely have been priced in to their thinking, and doubtless dips will be bought. But I don't think Tesla will bounce back as well as the others, a lot of that isn't because of the normal policy related dips, it's because 70% of the world have only just realised that Elon Musk is a fucking cunt, but there's no way that changes in Europe now

IIRC correctly Musk borrowed and put his Tesla shares up for security, i wonder how low Tesla has to go before the lenders are in effective negative equity?

He's re-funded that now; it was about $12bn secured with Tesla shares but that had been paid or refinanced within a couple of years so he wont be facing any margin calls or anything. Still personally pretty devastating obviously but won't impact the mechanics of the Twitter buy out

It's impossible to get your head around how fucking thick you must be to even give this a second, fleeting thought, never mind make it a top priority for political and 'diplomatic' efforts. You can't just buy another country you fucking weirdo

Interesting programme last night on the beeb about Greenland and it's people and politicians.
Some of them didn't seem completely set against America, more how they could best use the interest shown.
