The conviction rate for rape (from initial report to sentence) in the UK is about 3%. It's even worse here.
 
Not really an appropriate thread for this. I know the issue is worthwhile here but I wonder if these stars have any idea how this comes across. Fundraise for rich people (how it looks from the outside in) by less wealthy people, when the stars could just do a whip around instead.

Yeah, fuck that tone deaf bollocks. It's heartbreaking for them of course, completely devastating, but they'll all* be insured or able to rebuild. 99% of the fuckers have just 'lost everything' but they've still got more than the rest of the world.

*Obviously for the ones that are just normal people and they're fucked, assistance should be available

I believe that this was a tactical vote, that could backfire. CDU trying to take AFD votes before the election, by acting tough on immigration. The result means that the CDU will find it harder to convince AFD voters that they are tough against immigration, as some CDU politicians voted against the immigration measures that their party had put forward..

5 people shot in an adult education centre in Sweden; I'm probably getting ahead of things but among the courses they advertise is 'Swedish for immigrants', my gut is a racist nutjob. The crime and immigration situation over there has been getting worse and worse

Yeah that'll work. Most speculation I've seen on Twitter is obvious and not worth repeating. I know it won't solve anything especially for the victims and their family, but I really think Europe and its politics could do without the attacker being an Islamist terrorist

Aye, police seem keen to stress it wasn't an idealogical attack, no reason to disbelieve that but I'm sure that speculation will continue.

The guncrime in Sweden for the last few years has been absolutely mental. Gun murders increased ten-fold in the last twenty years, and Stockholm's gun death rate is like 30 times higher than London's. It's in a really difficult place, and I think if it was a racist attack (in either direction) it could have caused some genuine civil unrest like we saw recently

This dude needs popping pretty smartish. I can't believe the ease in which he's got his fingers on government systems and data, I'm not sure that combining that access with AI is a great idea
