Wolves v Braga build up thread

I don't know if Portuguese teams rotate for European games, but presumably Braga see this as arguably their most important group game. A win here and they are in pole position to finish top 2. Or are they more likely to play for the draw?

They're currently 16th in the Primeira. Beat Moreirense on the opening day but only a draw at Gil Vicente since. Cuffed 4-0 at home to Benfica before the international break and lost at the weekend too.

Surprised to see people wishing to prioritise the Prem already, 33 games to go, only 6 in the EL.

I think some people are looking at it that way due to our start in the PL points wise - if we had had 1 win & been on between 5 & 7 points (which would be mid table) the issue wouldn't arise.

Oh, and they actually have Wallace! The dude who has been linked to us for no reason for the last five windows.

Yes, but i find this a little panicky potentially ruining our European campaign because of what is at the moment a poor start to a season that is just 5 games old - it seems like an over reaction to me.

As I said yesterday, three points from the opening three games wasn't necessarily a bad return.

We've defended like clowns in the last two games. Football hasn't been great either. Although we have scored four goals. Funny old game.

I tend to reject tropes from the 70s/80s as the game has changed so much but the old "don't look at the table until 10 games in" one probably still holds. However people don't, they see us in 19th on 0 wins and start flapping.

If we don't beat any of Palace, Watford, Southampton or Newcastle then yes, we have a problem. I do not expect that will happen.

It is an over reaction, but people get panicky - compounded somewhat with continual sucess over the last 2 years

Many have very short memories.

It shouldn't be allowed full stop but particularly if you turn up 45 minutes after your "booking", don't stomp around with a face like a smacked arse when someone else is there. Cunt.

It shouldn't be allowed. Pissed me right off Saturday as it would have meant 5 of us crammed into two square feet or move the other side of the reserved table miles away from anyone. I did argue with the barwoman that the table was reserved for 12 and they hadn't turned up, then that frog faced fucker and his bulldog faced missus had a round as well. If you want a fucking seat get there before anybody else you fucking cunts.

Town pre and post match is starting to do my nut in.

You do realise that Nuno doesn't actually pick his team based on what we say on this forum? Not sure how anything gets ruined by some minor differences in tweaking. It's not like anyone is suggesting playing Sondergaard and Jordao

That's the PL culture, always has to be a story. The BBC billed yesterday's game as Villa's chance to get out of the relegation zone...

It won’t favour either. First time in Europe for years and people want to bin it off.
I didn't say bin it off, but if Moutinho and Jota for example aren't seen as being able to play both games then I hope it's Sunday's that they do.

Very much looking forward to this, a good diversion from the doom and gloom of the league. Our normal back 5 from last season, would like to see Cutrone and Neto start up front, also MGW in midfield

I see no reason why they can't play both. They can rest for the Reading game.

I thought that this forum DID have a direct line to Nuno, apologies!

Jota seems OK for now but I'd be protective of mainly Moutinho at the moment, he's so important to us and isn't a spring chicken, so if Nuno chose to prioritise any games, whether PL or EL, it'd be him I'd be looking at

I can’t see anyone saying we shouldn’t qualify from the group - just that we have a squad for a reason....

I can no longer make it so have a couple of print at home tickets in the Steve Bull upper going spare. Happy to take £30 for the pair if anyone is interested.

Braga doesn't have a manager this year.

Jordao training with the 1st team this week.
