Wolves - Man City Pre-Season Cup Final Match Thread

I am definitely buying it. It looks class.

2 seasons of ManbetX and then hopefully Fosun will be on the shirts properly.

We’ve been alright to be fair - city are an excellent team, but we’ve done well since the drinks break.

Good half that, came much more into it. MGW and Traore (in attack) look good.

Shame the half has to come to an end as we were well on top there.

The away kit is absolutely class and looks so much better with the Fosun sponsor.

Do you not think that you're being a bit harsh on Traore considering this is pre season and he's against Sane and Sterling?

Enjoyed that. We look good so far albeit against a City side not quite there yet.

Impressed with MGW, Jota and Moutinho. Donck getting through a mountain of work and once he'd settled Adama looked going forward.

You can never be too hard on him when posting on here.

Quite a lot to like there. Think MGW has done well and the outcome of the game probably depends on the subs. But City are simply superb in possession and I think we've coped well. Definite free kick on the edge of the box (if not a pen) for that pull back on Traore

Possibly. He is learning a completely new position as well. But I guess we have to see. Nuno clearly wants to give him the chance to do this, so he will get my support but defending is pretty specialist as a set of skills and he has to learn on the job.

He will be one hell of an outlet there in the coming season when we play the weaker teams, but against the might he has to face today, it is asking a lot of him.

That said, looking at it again online and it's rancid! Bloody white ManBetX sponsor completely ruins it.

I'll have to keep an eye out for a matchworn Fosun one.

Piss off Hinchcliffe you bias wanker, city dominated first 20 minutes not the entire half.

Agree there. I doubt we will see him against the top 4, his role will be as against Cardiff last season where we need to break down the bus parkers.

There’s no way he’d be playing there against City in a proper game unless two of our 3 wing backs were unavailable. As you say it’ll be games against the bottom half of the league where he’ll be utilised and be basically playing as a winger.

Just seen the pen again, Traore pulled out but his foot clipped Sanes so was a penalty. He also should have passed to Donk on one of his runs who was on for a shot - but apart from that, as Sky say, he’s been our bright spark today.

He’s never going to be a Jonny type super solid defender, but you can see he’s improving, and he’s also getting better going forward. Some people just need to lose the agenda and see how he goes. Nuno won’t pick him if he’s unable to do it.

On the bright side I have taught my one year old to say Nuno every time the bearded one appears on the TV.

Remains to be seen if he says it with every big beard he sees though.

Thursday isn't far away. Looking forward to seeing both of you for our first European football since I was 8.

Looking forward to seeing you lot as well, European football!!

Was going to get the shirts but it’s a three hour wait so we just went to the pub instead.
