Every so often pictures of Wolves' past appear on social media, etc. Thought we could use a place to compile them.
Don't think it's Timmy Traoré. Looks like Mark Todd.Tom Bennett, Thommo, Paul Birch and Timmy Steele...the original Adama
Blackburn? Lost 3-2, Frank Stapleton hat trick?Steele scored a cracker at my eldest first match at the Molinuex
If the forward is Mark Stein then it's the 3-3 draw with Oxford in March '91. Todd, Steele, Thompson, Bennett and Birch all played. Steve Foster in the background so it must beDon't think it's Timmy Traoré. Looks like Mark Todd.
Nah 3-1 win against Plymouth.....Bull and Mutch with the other goals I thinkBlackburn? Lost 3-2, Frank Stapleton hat trick?
You can see a very young me with my Dad and brother in the following matchday programme in the background to an action shot of Steele's goal.
I would have been there but had to look it up (getting old...). September 1990.Nah 3-1 win against Plymouth.....Bull and Mutch with the other goals I think
That's the one, my lad was 8 at the time and loved it, I enjoyed the game but the state of the ground shocked me (hadn't been for 12 years). Lucky for us a certain wealthy gentleman stepped up not long after.I would have been there but had to look it up (getting old...). September 1990.
Went 1-0 down, were still losing 1-0 after 35 minutes. 3-1 up at half time!
I was always jealous of those in the John ireland - my dad used to send me to the front of the south bank to stand near/on the fence; you’d never think of doing that with a 7/8 year old now .I started going in 1988. The ground was atrocious looking back but:
a) I didn't know any better
b) Even on TV, loads of the other grounds (even in the top flight) didn't look a whole lot better, not that there were that many live televised games. Old Wembley looked like a palace but we all know it was a shithole that stank of piss
The first four years of my football attendance were sat in a stand that was 30-40 yards from the pitch, surreal when you think about it but meh, helps when you've got a bloke knocking in 30+ goals on his own every season.
You do not realise how much better that makes me feelbut had to look it up
That was excellent, some goals I had forgotten.
A very strange way to do a season review video (loved dear old Mark Kendall though). Illustrates pretty nicely what an absolute kip we played in...
