Wolves Academy Thread

5-0 now. Just one way traffic. We have some decent under 18s but across the team we are nowhere near the level of Chelsea, still plenty to do to catch them up

Finished 7-0. On paper, it looked just about as strong as we could put out.

Yeah minus Campbell that’s about as strong as we get.

That missed penalty at 0-0 proved to be crucial :D

U23s doing OK against strong Liverpool side.

Definitely better for having Loiodice in there who’s been complemented well by Terry Taylor. Perry is playing in the front three which isn’t really his strongest role but he’s done alright. Campbell looks better all the time to me.

Campana must surely be in with a shout of a bench place. Not involved in 2 U23 games since we got back from Spain

I think if Adama were 100% fit then he may well have been there on Friday.

As it was we couldn't use him as the potential replacement for Doc/Jonny in the event of an injury as we weren't convinced he'd get through the whole game, so we had to put Young Oskar on there.

1-1. Dadashov wins the penalty, Campbell puts it away

And his rewards is to be subbed for Dongda He :D

Finished the much stronger side, Dadashov hitting the post at one point. Then go and concede a last minute goal.

Bruno Jordão just had a miss worse than Neto’s last week.

MGW off injured - spurs guy pushed him backwards whilst he was running off the ball and looked like he rocked his ankle

Marques looks like he’s had a bit of a growth spurt which is good - and some of his passing has been coadyesque

Pretty poor stuff. Jordao, Burr and Bueno look OK. The rest wouldn't trouble a conference north team on tonight's performance.

The new man in charge of the U23's is going to be under some pressure soon. Edwards just about achieved what was demanded of him and Jeff will demand promotion back to this level next season. Results wise, the U23 season has been shite since Rob left the club

To be fair, the u23s have lost a bunch of players of around 20 years old since Rob left the club - Sanderson, John, Kilman, Ennis, BAS, Francis, Giles, Diallo and Watt come to mind and replaced by really talented 17 and 18 year olds like Marques, Campbell, Perry, Otasawie, Cundle, Taylor and Bueno.

It was always going to be tougher when the team are that much younger than their opponents, but the club thinks this gives us more chance of developing first team players rather than just winning youth games.
