A poor performance against an in-form Palace side. Particularly first half when continuous giving the ball away shot ourselves in the foot.

Unsurprisingly we looked better 2nd half once we went a bit more attacking, with help from Palace easing off the pressure. A little unlucky with the non penalty, but I doubt it would have made any difference to the result.

Hard to pick a MOTM. I'll go for Joao Gomes again as the most consistent of a poor bunch today.

We can debate how much is down to tiredness or injuries or what have you, but I think that after 37 games we can see the bones of what Gary wants to do.

I'm afraid the bones are bad.

Defensively we're a completely disorganised shambles and we have zero game plan going forward. Otherwise it's all good...

For the vast majority that was complete filth, and it obviously can’t all be pinned on injuries. The setup offered nothing in the first half and the defence was poor throughout as it has been for most of the season. Not really acceptable.

Man Utd L 3-4
Brentford L 0-2
Sheff Utd W 1-0
Fulham W 2-1
West Ham L 1-2
Arsenal L 0-2
Bournemouth L 0-1
Luton W 2-1
Crystal Palace L 1-3

That is very poor at home.

Didn't stay for the end of season stuff. Walking home now. And that could be it for me, we're a bad team that is very expensive to watch.

Joke captain, no squad, can't defend, can't keep the ball, Matt fucking Doherty in May 2024, no real attacking plan as the season has unravelled, repeating the same errors over and over.

I'm tired Robbie.

Quoting this in here as I thought it was utterly shameful. Cunha, Lemina and others tried to motivate the players. This coward was utterly pathetic.

Watched him for the entirety of the period after conceding there up to the kick off. Didn’t say a word. Not anything. Utter coward and a fraud. Won’t come across on tv but he is laughable.

Only five points better off than last season, and if Fulham win at Luton on the final day we'll even be a place lower. Ending the season on a very poor run as well. Manager sets us up badly far too frequently.

Season of regression as expected given the summer, but we've been pretty bad for three months now. Can see this form continuing into the following season as we strip the squad further.

would've been a new candidate for goal of the season if Joao's late effort had gone in

1st half was shit, we were so poor.

2nd half was better.
Enzo looked ok busy and ok......

2nd half thought we were getting something out of the game and probably deserved to.

But defensively we were terrible at times

How you could look at that or indeed any home game in 2024 and say 'yes, we should sell one or two of the best players' or 'without a doubt we could and should charge more to watch this' is beyond me.

But guess what will happen.

I've not felt as empty at the end of a season for a good 8-9 years. With Lage I knew we'd sack him soon (too late, but soon enough) and we'd improve by default. I get reservations on Gaz but who is doing better under this model.

Inexplicable 'strategy' from people who somehow know less about football than when they arrived nearly 8 years ago.

I'd say the bones of what he wants to do were evident in late December/January, not now.

This isn't how he wants us to perform!?

Not too much to say that I didn't at half time, tactically wrong, we continue to play a nominally defensive formation but offer so much space for the opposition to utilise, 4 or 5 times we were tackled facing our own goal in the first half, 1 leading to them scoring. Attitude/ effort issues accompanied that. There are players I've disliked more than Max Kilman in my Wolves supporting life, he's not an offensive guy, he seems a nice bloke. There's very few I've wanted us to fuck off for the overall good of the team more though. 2 examples today, the third goal to demonstrate his on field deficiencies and when it's kicking off in the Semedo handbags, he's nowhere to be seen. His captaincy is pathetic

Even then we were poor defensively and giving up a lot of chances.

The hope was, in my mind, that even if our forwards got hurt, we could still at least shore up our frailty and clean up the inexcusable mistakes. That hasn't even come close to happening, and I don't even see signs that Gary has identified why we're so vulnerable on the counter.

No one makes him pick Doherty

He should have sussed Kilman out inside a month

Why are we so bad on the ball except on a counter

Why do we keep trying to play out from the back when we obviously can't

But he is being set up to fail and that isn't his fault

I didn't clock this at the time but wow. You're absolutely right.

Further, I just can't take any adult man who continues to treat veggies like a 5 year old would seriously.

It’s all very Lage without the offensiveness. Shit defending, out performing xG etc.

Worse captain this time though.
Gary's also not a total cunt, which for me makes it all even worse. I won't be happy to see him go.

But unless I'm misunderstanding you, I don't think this is how GON wants us to perform? Do you?

And with our better, influcial players back we'd be better.

Problem is a couple of our better players may well get sold, but that's not GON's fault.

Let's hope a pre season of drilling a defined strategy (or several of them) sorts out a lot of these issues.

Fatigue has definitely been an issue.

I can't believe my own logics are being used against me... (I can, actually).

Frankly, it goes without saying that our results are not what Gary would want, but if I build the world's best sandcastle, no amount of wanting it to stand forever is going to make that happen.
