Wolves 1-3 Chelsea verdict thread.

I think it’s mainly just the apathy setting back in for the moment but if they have a plan (lol) they should just stick to it now
I think if you keep making fundamental errors - today's selection which I've been over (and it's inexplicably bad, you could ask every single person on here bar perhaps EP and they would not pick Doherty or even consider it), sticking with back fives in games where we should be trying something different (not today), setting the team up so we basically have no chance of threatening - and you keep losing all the time, questions have to be asked, regardless of the situation he inherited.

I'm not entirely convinced that Vitor wouldn't have at least as many points, and he'd lost the plot, lost the dressing room and had to go.

I haven’t watched catfish in so long, is it still a thing?!
I honestly have no idea. Never seen an episode; that bit the gif is from is literally the only thing I know about the show. But what a fucking thing to know. The rest simply can’t live up to that guy.

I’ve kinda wildly swung from ‘we should sack Edwards’ (after losing his first 7) back to ‘meh, I quite like the person and Klopp couldn’t turn this squad around’ which was my feeling when we appointed him.

I think I was in my usual place of “it would be ridiculous to sack him so quickly nobody would save us now” but putting Doc at RB in a 4 is such an unbelievably bad idea from conception that the fact it made it to a matchday XI is really tilting me the other way. It’s worse than inexplicable.

Yeah I can’t explain the Doc right back thing. I never want to see Jackson play again but you may as well have Lima or even play Mosquera there.

I’ve fully bought into the theory that you just fuck off RB as a specialty position and put a midfielder who can hold his own physically there. Lee Evans was a better footballer than Doc.

Can’t play with it. Can’t win with it. Can’t do it. (NFL Thread homies might know this reference)

I wouldn't play Doc at RB, especially not now.

I do find your continued vitriolic hyperbole really boring and OTT though, he was good as a RCB for us as recently as last season, and was an integral part of the best Wolves team I have ever seen.

If you're going to endlessly white knight him then you'll get namechecked, won't you. Pretty sure you said recently that you want to keep him beyond this season.

I cannot stand him, sorry if that bores you, but he's a fucking disgrace of a defender and always has been. He's slow, bone idle and hasn't got a clue on the very basics of defending. Over a decade of watching that FFS.

No he wasn't good last season either. It's a scandal that we brought him back, unemployed and fucking about on a golf course in July, and a three year deal as well.

Just hasn’t got an ounce of a football brain and it’s been obvious for years.
People are blinded by his Nuno era performances but outside of that he’s been terrible.
Somehow got a move to Spurs under Mourinho and then onto Atletico Madrid before they realised they'd been sold a lemon.

Me when EP and Dan talk about Doherty:

Edit: okay it's not fun anymore.

I mean just look how angry he makes you, it's absolutely ridiculous. He hadn't played since the United game (where he played well) but you criticise him every day on here in one way or another.

Yes, it is boring, particularly when there are so many other targets for such anger, rather than a player who, without a doubt was part of our best side in both of our lifetimes. But your anger towards him is relentless.

Thats not to say he didn't fuck up today, he did. But jesus he didn't last week or the week before that, or the week before that, but I would easily find digs from you across the forums regarding him. It's an obsession.

Sorry mate but I hate crap footballers who wear our shirt. I'm sure that seems irrational to you but it's not to me.

Darren Ferguson hasn't played for us for approaching 30 years and I fucking hate him as well.

That's about 150 games then. Plus he also had a season where he won Fans player of the season.

I mean it's just silly isn't it.

Yes, because Doherty was a really important part of a team that was fucking brilliant, just dismissing all that all of the time is crazy.

Fine then, give him a contract forever, because he was alright 8 years ago in a role we can't even remotely accommodate now.

This is the here and now, it was scandalous that we re-signed him, scandalous that we gave him that kind of deal and scandalous that he's still getting a game. And people want to keep him on as well because er, experience or something.

It's the role that is the asterisk for me. It's not just that we don't play it anymore, nobody plays it. It was a 1 of 1 Nuno tailored.

I follow the team's progress with regret, and with genuine admiration for the fans who continue to flock to Molineux, rain or shine... despite the team's current situation hardly encouraging it.
The players are heavily criticized, and rightly so, for their poor quality, but I believe the true and sole culprits for the team's predicament are Fosun. They, and no one else, have taken us all for fools in recent years with their absurd and shameful decisions. They haven't gotten anything right, they've brought in a lot of money every season and squandered it on what we see on the pitch. I can't be optimistic about the future if they continue to run the club, not until these scoundrels are gone. All eyes and criticism should be focused on them and their disgraceful management. To highlight something positive, I think the team hasn't been playing as badly lately as the standings suggest. In my opinion, we've been plagued by bad luck (three shots off the post in the last few matches), and then there are the referees. I don't think they're treating us with respect either. The second penalty could easily have been awarded outside the box; it's not very clear on TV whether it was inside or outside the area. And in the tussle between Tolo and a defender in the corner, if the referee had consulted VAR, he could have even seen a penalty on him. It was a harsh call, though; the player grabbed Tolo inside the area... Ángel Gomes looks promising, and to keep hope alive, we still have the FA Cup. Excuse my pathetic Google Translate English, and greetings from Spain.
