Inevitable, as soon as the line up was announced.

Having a right back in the line up who was deemed as not being good enough in a back 4 in league one 12 years ago tells you all you need to know.

Positive: the positive list has doubled!

Mane
A. Gomes

Negative:

See all posts below :D

I thought we tried to be a bit too clever with the lineup today. At least now hopefully our management team have realised that Doc and Hwang are not good enough for Albion let alone Wolves.

We started the game with 9 players. We got exactly what that deserved. Rob Edwards isn't up to the job. The players are mostly not up to the job. The owners are not up to the job. Being a Wolves fan has rarely felt so depressing. There is nothing about the club that is worth celebrating.

The first half was incredible. Actually compelling to watch something, anything, being done that badly.

Watching Adam Armstrong in the flesh you can see why he’s enjoyed the career he has in the top flight. An incredible lack of actual or potential impact on the game. Sadly, that’s a level of contribution we could only wish for some of our other players.

I’m sad about Mosquera as I really thought he might have something. But he’s a complete liability and you just can’t have a joker like that in a proper team.

The only positive is teams don't have the hunger of those from days gone by to run up a cricket score.

Wrong team lost 3-0, correct team won 1-0 - with a massive asterisk

We know most of our players are inadequate, but what does that lineup, and the points haul so far tell you about Edwards?

For me, he's just another out of his depth Wolves employee and not up to locking horns with elite managers. His ceiling will be that of a manager who can possibly get you a good Championship playoff run at the right club.

Above that he's just not canny or inspirational enough to make a fist of it, I'm not even convinced he's going to boss the Championship unless we throw money at it again

I feel like I’ve said this before, and I’m pretty sure I did last week, but Hwang is a disgrace on so many levels. He deserves no sympathy, the guy is utterly without a single redeemable feature. Put him in the bin, literally.
On the pitch I agree. In addition to his complete lack of quality he’s a dirty cheat.

Was there an injury excuse given for Captain Marvel going off?

Two appalling penalties to give away, maybe the two worst I've seen us concede?

The mosquera push is absolutely horrific.

Thought Armstrong was ok and quite liked the look of Angel, he played a few nice balls

The less said about Hwang the better, he should never wear a Wolves shirt again, no effort, no quality, no good.

Ducked out at 2-0, sorry but I'm not wasting any more of my time after witnessing that silly bollocks of two penalties. Was surprised when I checked and it was only 3-1. A few teams have declared against us this year, didn't watch second half but imagine it was the same. Useless!

Yeah, Angel did look good. As the rain set in surely he must have been reflecting on his life choices?

And why the fuck did we decide to play 4 at the back today? Last weekend, fair does worth a shout. Mid week v Forest, fair shout.

Against Chelsea? Fucking suicide.
Yep. And this is why I don't attribute all the blame to the lack of talent in the squad (just most of it). Edwards IMO is just not good enough. Too many poor decisions, notably the continued insistence on playing Hwang who is genuinely one of the worst footballers I've ever seen.

I don’t mind the switch to a back 4. I suggested it pre-match. We’re going down, so let’s at least have a go. But don’t pick a fucking back 4 with Matt Doherty at right back and Hwang literally anywhere.

Team selection got what it deserved, although obviously there’s nothing RE can do about Yerson & Doc being absolute air heads for the penalties (other than not picking them, and I think most would have had Yerson in from the start).

Second half a bit better but let’s be honest, Chelsea were in neutral at that point.

Ferbruary 7th and we’re still in single figures. Christ alive.

When I saw we'd gone to a back four I said it was brave or stupid and almost certainly the latter and so it proved. How anyone can think it's a good idea to play a different formation for the first time with two debutants and against a CL level team beggars belief. I know that Chelsea took their foot off the gas but the difference in the two halves had to be seen to be believed. The key point to take from today is it provided irrefutable proof that Doherty and Hwang should never play for us again.
