Wolves 0 - 2 Wednesday verdict thread

In answer to your question frank yes we are horrendously bad I would say along with Rotherham the worst team in the division relegation beckons

How on earth has it come to this? Can no one at the club see what is happening?

The Portuguese lightweights are far fucking better than the fucking British shithouse trio of Coady, Edwards and Saville.

There is space for one of that headless run around player. Not all three. For 18 months I've watched these players who "put in a shift", "work hard" "cover a lot of ground" and I'm sick of it. Texiera absolutely bollocked Doherty and Edwards for being lacksidasical and half arsed on the ball. If you're a seasoned pro being bollocked by a 19 year old lad who is from another country then you have to have a long hard look at yourself.

I want to see some footballers who can control an ball and pass a ball. Today we left those players on the bench and thats not fucking good enough.

Tex is almost 23, but agree entirely otherwise.

As they keep picking Edwards and co clearly not.

The problem is the cliques in a divided dressing room. Fosun need to grab this by the scruff of the neck and fire the entire coaching staff. Isolate the trouble makers on the playing staff by binning their mates out of Wolves.

think Jeff needs to receive some emails from Dan's blohgs

Thanks, we had some debate over his age post-match!

I've still not calmed down from Saturday, all the comments coming out of the club have only made me more annoyed. I genuinely think relegation is possible - especially if we continue to avoid using our skilful players and play the "hard workers". The "hardworking" bunch have provided us with some spectacularly dreadful form since we sold Afobe, and it was hardly scintillating before then.

Do they have anyone with enough knowledge on the inside of the club to be able to do this though? Presumably they're going to keep talking to British "experts" who "know the Championship" and therefore keep hearing the same old shite.

What's pissing me off most - and I thought I was well past getting angry about football - is the massive lost opportunity. The buzz about the Fosun takeover has now gone. The first month or so was an opportunity to bring in a genuinely exciting manager and exciting players, and I think they tried to do that but failed. They then concluded, or were persuaded, that Zenga failed because he was foreign rather than just rubbish, and have retreated to a "difficult league, need people who know it" position. Even if Lambert was to get the bullet in a couple of weeks, the chances of any up-and-coming European manager wanting to come here have diminished massively because we look like a fucking basket case of a club.

So disappointing.

I really don't know enough about Paul Lambert and his history to make an informed judgement on what the hell he thinks he's playing at. Norwich City - good manager; Aston Villa - bad manager.

Have we got a divided dressing room? If so, does it split as the Jackett Toppings against the Overseas Newbies? Can't seem to be along any other lines. Okay, let's see if we can get a handle on this: the squad's too big, says Lambert. In other words, players will be sold or loaned out in January.

Lambert SEEMS to be thinking that those who have played in the Championship before "Know The Championship". Well, yes, they do, but that doesn't mean they're actually any good in it. Is Lambert a pig-headed manager, or is he aware that what he says means players expect him to soon play the Grim Reaper. Has he really decided that the cull will be the new foreign imports?

His problem at the moment is his team selections have gone back to the Jackett era, despite the fact he surely must KNOW that didn't work with the players from that time still on the books.

His policy was very Brian Clough for the first two games - if you don't concede, you don't lose. EXCEPT... by the second game that had become a nonsense strategy with those players he chose to play.

Checking out EEL at Sheffield United? Well, that's running the rule over the club assets. There was a time when EEL looked sensational for Wolves at right back - I was there at Molineux and witnessed it. EEL or Doherty at RB? Well, for me it's EEL every time. And ahead of Iorfa in that position at the moment, too.

Lambert MUST have said something in his job interview which impressed, other than he's keeping Rob Edwards and Thelwell in their posts. So, how to take a positive spin? Give the Jackett brigade enough rope to hang themselves and that will be reason enough to "rest" them. And bin them altogether in January.

We can but hope. Otherwise, League 1 here we come...

I don't think we have a divided dressing room in terms of the players. Certainly not the situation we had before KJ arrived anyway.

I think we have a team of coaches who have a degree of loyalty to the players from previous seasons and Lambert is certainly taking early advise from them and his comments regarding the, bulk, of the new signings are wrong on every level.

saying the new signings haven't gone the right UK experience will never explain the shit for brains defending we've got at the moment. if Lambert meant we should have brought in more experience at the back on top of the new forwards, then fair enough. otherwise, god help us.

I think that Lambert's actions and words over the past few days will have left the foreign signings feeling quite ostracised regardless of whether it's them he wants to move out or not. It stands to reason judging on his two team selections to date and his soundbites today that it is them he thinks he can't rely on and we're going to be saddled with Saville, Doherty, Coady and the like in the first team for the foreseeable. It just begs the question what the fuck does he think he's going to achieve with such dross and how he's going to achieve it? Fosun have stated in no uncertain terms that they want to be in the Premier League and relying on players who've proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that they're just shit in this league isn't going to achieve that ever.

The whole situation is a complete fuck-up as it stands and I can't see how it's going to improve anytime soon with Lambert going about things the way he is.

relegation is not possible it is certain if Lambert keeps picking the same players and expects different results, that way lies madness to misquote Einstein. As for saying the new signings have had their chance I must have missed those matches.

Forget the Premier League, our priority now is staying in this god forsaken division. Our only option as it stands is to play the players who know the league and have been there and done it. We don't need lightweights wearing gloves and snoods to get us out of this mess, our summer transfer business must rank as the worst in the clubs history. An utter disgraceful waste of the clubs resources.
All we needed was a manager that knows this division and a handful of experienced Championship savvy players, instead we got a manager who never had the remotest possibility of success and a bunch of Mendes cast offs.

These players haven't 'been there and done it' in this division, unless 'it' is bottom four form for virtually an entire calendar year.

Yep - Lonergan, Doherty, Stearman, Batth, Edwards & Coady know this Division inside out. Perfect.

By the way my favourite perfectly balanced (equally rubbish on either side) Irish full back wears gloves from October to March. I look to him as an example of what attitude we need to show like the The Hague War Tribunal looks at Ratko Mladic.

Well it wasn't the new foreigners running around with no thought in their head with far too often 3 going to the Weds player with the ball then getting caught out of position by some accurate passing to leave acres of space for Weds to play with.

Bod & Costa were the only 2 starting & certainly it wasn't them doing that, nor was it either of them flying in with unecessary crap penalty area challenges or playing woefully underhit passes back.

I would accept that we didn't sign better quality championship experienced players & Fosun may be a little guilty though given how late they took over would have been relying on advice from others at that stage. Clearly the advice was crap

Just because Coady, Saville, Doherty (other names can be inserted here) et al have championship experience doesn't make them the right players to use

The old guard are really looking like our saviours not. Do not know if the summer signings are really any better but if they do not play will never know . play them see what happens if it is as bad or worse (very unlikely) than at present it would give the manager the right to ask for a complete clear out of players and coaches.

This squad is so much weaker than the one that got relegated last time, in pretty much every position. The real worry is that I don't see us bouncing back up again so easy next time. Complete shambles.
