Wolves 0-1 Liverpool: Verdict Thread

On Hwang, is it just me that thinks his control and touch can be absolutely terrible. Sometimes he traps it further than some people could kick it. After a promising start I'm beginning to think he's a bit rubbish.
His partnership with Raul has completely diminished before it really got going. He’s not running off Raul or getting in behind and looking for a through ball (like he did against Newcastle). He works hard going the wrong way, but we’re already an incredibly defensive side who struggle for goals, so I can’t say I’m overly confident he’s the answer. At the moment, I’d say £15m is about right, rather than a “bargain”, which is what a few people have branded the potential deal as.

This is incredibly harsh. Literally the *only* player showing any attacking intent today. Plus he got booted all over the ground.
Agree with this thought he gave them something to think about going the other way which we lost when he went off.

Adama is fucking lazy and shit. Bin him off January 1st.
I've come round to this way of thinking. I think the casual armchair fan might love him because he can bring excitement and get you out of your seat. Problem is he inevitably puts you back in your seat with your head in your hands. He just doesn't have the brain/awareness to ever be any good. And the non casual/armchair fan can see that, game in game out.

Ron Atkinson called, wants his quote back :ROFLMAO:

Yep anyone who thinks Adama was our problem today was obviously watching a different game. Taking him off was a mistake too as once we did Liverpool stepped onto us even more. I know our bench is light but Hwang was absolutely abysmal today, as said above his touch was terrible and he should have been binned after 60 minutes maximum.

Gutting at the end but don't think we can say Liverpool didn't deserve it in the end.

I would love to see Deli Ali come here in the January window, am i dreaming ? He would give our midfield what we are missing.

Well, we are missing someone ambling about not giving a fuck but I'd rather not have that after watching the likes of Simon Osbourn and Steve Corica.

On the game, we defended really well but one error and they punished us. The 'fans' booing jota are morons, as I told the few around me in the ground. That annoyed me as much as conceding.

Absolutely gutting result in the end. Great effort from the players, they just came up a bit short today, no shame in that as Liverpool are probably the best team in the world at the moment.
Man City say 'hold my beer'...

He's difficult to integrate into a pattern (in a Neil Emblen type of way). For me he has to be on the shoulders of their defenders at all times. When all is said and done he is a fucking nightmare to defend against.

Harsh to blame Traore of the ones up front today. Hwang was a total passenger and by second half Jimenez did not do near well enough to hold the ball up personally. Would love to see a stat for his aerial duels as seemed like Matip was always getting the better of him.

I know this is a superfan comment Jinky, but you really needed to be there to see him today. Stuff you wouldn't see on a TV screen with the camera following the ball. Walking when he should be running, standing still when he should be moving. It was pathetic to watch. Unless the ball was at his feet he wasn't arsed at all. He's gone in Jan and I think he knows it.

That really is interesting, on my (admittedly shit) stream he looked like arguably our best player.

He was abominable in helping with the defensive effort. Just stood around doing fuck all. I’ll stick with the judgement of my eyes from within the ground rather than the tv view.

Hwang shitted out of a couple of challenges aswell.

There was one occasion in the first half where we actually had the opportunity to break with Semedo, and instead of busting a gut to sprint into the wide open space on our right side where Semedo could easily have played him in, he just jogged towards the nearest Liverpool defender. I don't know whether it was laziness or just complete lack of awareness and thought.
