You know everything you say before 'but' doesn't matter.

Mine was a quote from Game of Thrones, but I guess humour is lost on some. Not at all. It was a comment on equal treatment of players rather than a criticism of Rui particularly, so I didn't want it to be misconstrued and turned into an irrelevant squabble.
But thanks for doing that anyway!

I don't quite understand the question. No one should be exempt from fair criticism and I haven't suggested they should anywhere in the text. I don't happen to think that the sale of Traore should be brought up after every game either, if it does (?), but if it did why would that make it OK to say the same of Patricio? In that case two wrongs make a right, but I'm purely talking about the goalkeeper and I think those pretty bald comments stand. As an aside, it's a something of a conceit to equate another players slump in form with the form of Patricio. In my opinion that form has not 'nose dived', rather there has been a dent in it. That's a reasonable issue to raise, just as it's reasonable to respond that, on reflection, our goalkeeper is not a priority issue.I have no problem with Rui, but why should he be exempt from the comments that Coady, Moutinho, Donk and Traore have had this season when their form has nose dived? The sale of the latter gets brought up after every game on here
If you like though you can send him back to Europe. Make sure you apply the right tariff code.
He's not exempt, he's had pelters on here for his mistakes this season but he does have a lot of credit in the bank so I think a lot of people think its just a temporary loss in form. Traore does get the most stick but he is most inconsistent player we have although when he's good, he's outstanding.I have no problem with Rui, but why should he be exempt from the comments that Coady, Moutinho, Donk and Traore have had this season when their form has nose dived? Also so many times when that has happened he has come out and killed it dead by taking the ball towards the edge of the area. I would say he has a quick brain for working out a situation and won't take risks. If in his view racing out will cause more danger he will stay and deal with it in another manner. Doubt we will see a lot of him racing out of the area though, like Leno did last nightSo many times a balls been out over the top and the forward hasn’t even got the first touch on it till well inside the box. This clearly means Rui could have got there first with his hands and intercepted. Granted when that forward does have shot he saves it, but he could take the chance of a “worldy” out of it by stopping the shot in the first place.

I suspect Podence is next in line for the 'treatment' as he's also hot and cold.
2 of his last 3 have been good performances for me. Certainly looked like his old self v Chelsea. Question marks on the goal at the weekend of course but he only takes part of the blame for that oneIt seems to me that most people have chosen between Rui and Pope and the result is Rui, plus most seem to want keep him for now, despite his loss of form recently.
Agreed. Obviously human nature (or just me) to remember more the times he did it wrong than the low key times he did it right. Also so many times when that has happened he has come out and killed it dead by taking the ball towards the edge of the area. I'm the other way round on him. I think because when he arrived and my position in the Stadium I was fascinated by his movement and decision making. A lot of the time I miss the attacking play from the opponent as I would automatically look at what Rui was doing. So when he stays back I can see why he is doing it. Obviously doesn't get it right all the time, no player can but just love how his brain works on the pitchAgreed.
